As of last week, the 2024 high school football season is officially underway in the state of Kentucky! Week 1 provided several key matchups and very impressive performances. However, some players were able to stand out from the rest. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, here are our top performing ATH from Week 1 in the state of Kentucky who made an impact at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='735551' first='Connor' last='Hodge'] is following in his older brother Cole's footsteps this season as he made the switch from wide receiver to quarterback on offense. Last week, he led CAL to a victory over Owensboro, completing 18/23 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns. He also proved to be a true dual-threat quarterback, running the ball 16 times for 70 yards and a touchdown. Hodge also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball as a defensive back, coming away with one interception. Connor currently holds offers from UT Martin, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri State, Georgia Southern, and Ball State, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber prospect who could play multiple positions at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160659' first='Lincoln' last='Acree'] got off to a strong start to his senior year as he played a key role in Graves County's win over Mayfield. On offense, Acree lined up at receiver where he caught seven passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Lincoln is a skilled route runner who is able to use smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. He has also proven to be reliable when making catches in traffic, showing strong hands and the toughness to bring in catches while taking on contact. Acree also showed that he is a skilled returner on special teams and made an impact on defense, finishing the game with two interceptions. Lincoln holds offers from Quincy, Greenville, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Bethel (TN), and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.

After a very impressive sophomore year, [player_tooltip player_id='371230' first='Daulton' last='Tarter'] started his junior season on a high note last week, playing a key role in Bracken County's win over Harrison County. On offense, he was dominant as a ball carrier, running the ball 20 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He is a hard runner with the contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Tarter was also a key contributor on defense at linebacker, finishing the game with five tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception. Daulton doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and is definitely a player to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='971505' first='Dameyn' last='Anness'] is another talented 2026 prospect who continued to stand out last week. He was very impressive as a ball carrier in Ludlow's win over Lockland (OH), carrying the ball 13 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Anness is very dangerous in the open field as he has the speed to run away from the defense and elusiveness to make defenders miss. He also played a key role in the passing game, catching four passes for 68 yards. On defense, he made a big impact at linebacker, finishing the game with 10 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. Dameyn doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who college coaches should be paying close attention to.

[player_tooltip player_id='971497' first='Isaiah' last='Martin'] is a player who has been high on our radar for a while now and continued to stand out last week. Although Murray lost a close game to Union City (TN), Martin was very impressive at receiver, catching nine passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Isaiah has the speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He also is able to use smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. Martin also came away with an interception on defense. Isaiah recently picked up his first offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the Division I level.

[player_tooltip player_id='373048' first='Brock' last='Coffman'] is another player who has been high on our radar for a while now and continued to impress in Week 1. He played a big role in Sayre's offense in their win over Covington Holy Cross, finishing the game with eight receptions for 82 yards and three touchdowns. Coffman is great at creating separation, using his speed and breaks in his routes to his advantage. He is also dangerous after the catch, showing the speed and elusiveness to turn short passes into big gains at any given moment. Coffman also made an impact on defense, finishing the game with one interception. Brock currently holds several Division I/Power 4 offers and I expect more to come his way as he is a very talented prospect.

My final top performing ATH from Week 1 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='735553' first='Brenan' last='Griffin']. Griffin made a big impact on both sides of the ball in Hart County's win over Nelson County. On defense, he lined up at linebacker where he showed the ability to read his keys and flow to the ball carrier in a hurry to make tackles against the run. He finished the game with 16 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Griffin also showed the ability to make plays against the pass, finishing with one sack and two interceptions. Brenan also led his team in rushing on offense, carrying the ball 10 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Griffin doesn't currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received a solid amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
