The offensive line is where all good offenses are built upon. The road graders are the guys that pave the way for the running backs and give time for the quarterbacks to get rid of the football. The 2023 offensive line class is a strong one if the early indicators are accurate. Today we are going to take an early look at several offensive linemen that are a part of the class of 2023.
[player_tooltip player_id="75131" first="Will" last="Moss"]-DeWitt
Moss is a 6-4 and 295-pound impressive powerhouse on the offensive line for the DeWitt Dragons. Moss has very quick feet and does a terrific job of getting out of his stance quickly. He gets into the opposing defensive lineman quickly and many times can catch them off balance with just how quickly he gets out of the snap. Moss has already earned scholarship offers from Middle Tennessee State and the University of Kansas. He is an offensive lineman that I would expect to earn more scholarship offers over the next few months.
[player_tooltip player_id="130323" first="Walker" last="Davis"]-Benton
Davis has the potential to explode on to the recruiting scene this season. The Benton offensive lineman does an impressive job of using his feet well. He is extremely quick and is always looking for the next defensive player to block. Davis is a mainstay on the Benton offensive line and the expectations are there for him to have a big season. He is a strong offensive lineman, and he plays with a mean streak. Scouts should make the trip to Benton and check this young man out; they will not be disappointed.
[player_tooltip player_id="133143" first="Travis" last="Luster"]-Blytheville
The Blytheville guard is a player that plays with a chip on his shoulder. Luster excels at run blocking. He will drive his opponent into the ground when given the opportunity. Luster plays with good quickness and he is a strong offensive lineman. At 6-2 and 260-pounds, he has the frame to support more weight. He has the potential to play at the next level and I would expect a solid season from the Blytheville guard this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="137779" first="Josh" last="Lawrence"]-Sylvan Hills
Sylvan Hills has a talented roster, so it should come as no surprise to find out that the Bears would have talent on the offensive line. [player_tooltip player_id="137779" first="Josh" last="Lawrence"] is an absolutely punishing run blocker for the Bears. He uses his 6-4 and 292-pound frame well to drive opposing defensive linemen out of the picture. Lawrence’s steady performance on the offensive line has helped Sylvan Hills be able to establish a devastating rushing attack. Lawrence is going to catch the eyes of scouts with how quickly he gets into the opposing defensive linemen. Lawrence is a player to keep an eye over the next two seasons.
[player_tooltip player_id="134612" first="Benjamin" last="Barry"]-Rogers Heritage
The War Eagles of Rogers Heritage are starting to put the pieces together to have a solid football team over the next few years. [player_tooltip player_id="134612" first="Benjamin" last="Barry"] is a player on the offensive line that the War Eagles are going to lean on to solidify the offensive line. Protecting the quarterback is going to be key for Rogers Heritage. Barry is a strong offensive lineman that does an impressive job from a pass blocking perspective. Barry is a player that with a solid season is going to wind up on scouts’ radars this season. Rogers Heritage will have a chance to make some noise this season and prove that they can be a dangerous team in the process.
