PRZPA Team Preview, New Oxford

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: New Oxford is a program on the rise as they won 9 games last year and 8 games the year before. They also won York-Adams Section 2 Title going 6-0 in section play last season. They are a talented group that brings back a good core of players. I expect them to be good this year as well.</p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach</strong>: Jason Warner </p>   <p><strong>Top returning prospects for the 2024 season</strong>:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1282071' first='Clayton' last='Nieves'] is one of the best running backs in the 2025 class, and he is overlooked as a prospect. Nieves has a ton of elite skills for a running back. He has a great burst and a physical running style. I think he should have a good chance at playing College Football. He is a big play waiting to happen every time he touches the ball. Nieves is also good at hitting the hole and making defenders miss. He also has a physical running style that is hard to bring down. Nieves also caught the ball well out of the backfield. He showed good hands and made defenders miss in space after catching the ball. He is equally as good as an off-the-ball linebacker as he is playing as a stand-up defensive end. At the off-the-ball position, he does a good job of reading and reacting to the play and attacking downhill. He also shows a good ability to drop in pass coverage and get his hands on balls thrown in his direction. As a stand-up defensive end, he shows off his pass-rushing ability. He can use his athleticism and speed to put pressure on quarterbacks off the edge. He does a good job in the pocket and delivers an excellent football. He has good mechanics and sets his feet well from the pocket. On designed sprint out passing plays Frey shows good skills as well. He does a nice job of sprinting out and finding open receivers. Frey is ready to take over as the starting quarterback and I am excited to see his progress this year. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1156211' first='Brogan' last='Klunk'] plays as an outside linebacker/strong safety. He does a good job of playing in space. He is the type of player who is good at combating today's offensives because he is a hybrid player who can play against multiple offenses. He excels at reading his keys and is never out of position. He is also good in pass coverage by dropping in the zone and taking away passing lanes. He is also a good tackler, especially in the open field. Klunk is a good player in the 2026 class who should continue to grow as a prospect. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1282063' first='Alex' last='Brown'] has limited film at running back but flashed some good skills at the position. He is a good athlete who has excellent speed. He hits the hole well and runs by defenders. He also is a physical runner who is hard to bring down. I expect Brown to be a big contributor this season for New Oxford possibly on offense and defense. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1156196' first='Brayden' last='Billman'] played as a defensive back last year for New Oxford. He is a ball hawk at the safety position. He does a good job of reading and reacting to the quarterback and making a play on the ball when it is thrown in his direction. He had several interceptions by dropping in coverage and making a play on the ball. Billman also does a good job in run support by coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. He is a total package at defensive back and I expect he play some wide receiver this year as well. At both positions, he shows a good combination of strength, size, and athleticism. At offensive guard, he fires off the ball well and does a good job of blocking defensive linemen at the point of attack. He moves well and does a good job of going to the next level and blocking linebackers. At defensive tackle, he is hard to move off his spot as he can hold his own against offensive linemen. Winning a York-Adams Section 2 title again be a huge accomplishment, but also winning a playoff game or two would show everyone that they are legit as a program. </p>   <p></p>
