Recent Commitment: San Diego State
Notes: One of the top tight ends in the state comes off the board with Ellis’s commitment to San Diego State. He committed to the Aztecs a few weeks back on his Official Visit, and was one of the top uncommitted tight ends across the region. At 6’5″ and 235 pounds with a huge catch radius and blocking abilities, he is a very balanced prospect that will be one of the top two-way threats across Norcal this Fall.

Ellis is one of the top uncommitted tight end prospects in California, and recently has been busy picking up offers from Cal Poly, Eastern Washington and Sacramento State. He will visit Sacramento State this weekend and has an official visit scheduled to San Diego State at the end of this month. His commitment will be one to watch across the region as we move through the summer.

Ellis is starting to some see offers roll in over the past couple of weeks, and is one of the top tight end prospects in Northern California in this 2026 class. He picked up offers from SDSU, Texas State and NAU, and was previously offered by UNLV earlier last Spring. He is a legit 6’5″ and 230 pounds with a huge catch radius and strong hands downfield while showing the willingness to block and be an inline guy as well. Look for Ellis to have a busy Spring and Summer and should see plenty of other D1 offers come his way.

A lot to like about Ellis and his skillset. He’s continued to grow and add good weight without sacrificing his athleticism or movement skills now at 6’5” 230 lbs. Started his career as a receiver that now gives him the ability to line up in the slot or with his hand in the ground as an inline TE. Excels finding the soft spot in coverage and using his size/length to create positional leverage and box out defenders at the catch point. Flashes good body control and hand eye coordination to be a natural hands catcher of the football. Possesses a large catch radius that allows him to extend to catch the ball outside his framework with confidence. A tough tackle after the catch with his size and strength at the POA extending gains running through contact with good forward momentum. Physical and aggressive as a blocker, he’s able to adjust his angles and engage with power to control opponents and sustain throughout the play. Combination of size, length, and skillset could also transition well to DE.
