Breen is one of the top defenders in the redwood empire and is a very active outside linebacker with cover abilities and can come down and set the edge/play in the box when needed. He had a huge night against state champion American Canyon on Saturday and was all over the place in the Mustangs secondary. He ended the game with two interceptions, including a big time game ceiling pick on a tipped ball on the final play of the contest and tacked on 7 tackles. He is one of the top available defenders in the Bay Area and will be a big time steal for a college program and is a very high academic kid.

Breen is a solid OLB with the versatility to be equally effective in run support and dropping into coverage allowing him to play all three downs. 6’1” 200 lbs. he’s got a good combination of size, speed, and football IQ to read and react. Good eye discipline to diagnose run/pass as the play develops and trigger to the ball. In the run game, he plays downhill with good leverage and physicality at the POA. He can set the edge while taking on blockers showing he can disengage and free himself up. Flashes good closing speed and efficient angles in pursuit with the ability to adjust on the fly. In coverage, he can drop into zone or carry vertically with a slot, TE, or RB while staying in phase to limit separation and play the ball in the air. Picked up his initial college offer from Sacramento State last week.

Breen won linebacker MVP Honors in Sacramento and has the frame to continue packing on weight for the next level and projects as a outside linebacker in college. Through drills, he was a smooth operator in coverage with natural hips in transition and showed ball skills, broke quickly to the ball and was impressive in both one on one sessions. On tape, he shows he is a strong tackler in space, triggers quickly and can make plays in the open field/set the edge and is outstanding in man coverage downfield. Breen is coming off a 4-AA state championship and one of the top returning defenders across the North Bay heading into 2025.
