He’s got that rare mix of power and quickness that makes him hard to bring down, running through arm tackles and bouncing off contact like it’s nothing. You don’t expect a kid his size to move the way he does, but he’s got real burst and can get downhill in a hurry. His footwork is clean, his balance is impressive, and when he decides to hit the gas, he gets upfield in a flash. He’s still developing, but the foundation is there for him to become one of the more complete backs in the class. Hamilton’s got a real weapon in their backfield — and if his growth continues at this pace, more offers are going to follow.

Roebuck moves up from the watchlist landing at #15 overall and the #2 RB in the 2028 class. 5’10” 200 lbs. he’s a gifted athlete with natural playmaking ability on both sides of the ball at RB and LB. Plays with an edge constantly attacking with physicality and toughness. Flashes plus all around game speed. As a ball carrier, he’s quick in the short area with great lateral agility to make explosive and sudden cuts around defenders and also possesses a sustained second gear to break away in space. Despite four D1 offers coming through in June, his recruitment is still in its early phases with the skillset and potential to be a major D1 prospect. With more varsity experience/film, he’ll skyrocket up rankings and recruiting boards.

He’s already got great size for a young back, but it’s his footwork that really stands out. You don’t always expect someone that stocky to have light, quick feet — but Devante does. That combo makes him a mismatch on both sides of the ball. On offense, he’s a load to bring down and uses that frame to run through arm tackles. On defense, that same footwork shows up in coverage, where he’s surprisingly fluid and able to stay in-phase with backs and tight ends. He’s got the kind of size-speed combo that jumps off the screen, and it’s rare to see it come together this early. Hamilton has a real weapon here, and it’ll be interesting to see how they start working him into more meaningful reps. Whether it’s downhill as a backer or downhill as a runner, he brings physicality, balance, and effort on every snap. He’s still early in the development curve, but it feels like it’s only a matter of time before the buzz gets loud.
