To compete against the Alabama’s and Georgia’s of the world Arkansas must be able to keep the in-state talent at home. In this article, we are going to take a look at the key in-state commits that the Razorbacks have received verbal commitments from thus far.
Everyone likes to start on the fire power that Arkansas is bringing in on the offensive side of the ball. With the offense that offensive coordinator Kendall Briles is wanting to run, it was imperative to add guys that could add some punch to the offense. The Razorbacks have managed to secure the commitment of plenty of weapons that will fit nicely into Briles’ system.
Dax Courtney Dax Courtney 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE Clarendon | 2022 State AR -Tight End-Clarendon
Courtney is the number one tight end in the state of Arkansas for the 2022 class. The Clarendon tight end is a match up nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators. Courtney is a dangerous receiver in the open field and proves to be a player that will either run you over or make you miss. Courtney has proven that he can light up in the slot or out wide as far as running routes goes. An underrated facet of Courtney’s game is that he is a strong blocker, and he is an unselfish blocker when it comes to creating a lane for his teammates to run through.
James Jointer James Jointer 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Little Rock Parkview | 2022 State AR -Running Back-Little Rock Parkview
Jointer will give the Arkansas Razorbacks a running back that can run the football and be someone that they can lean on late in football games. The Parkview running back is not only a dangerous running that can take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He is also a dangerous wide receiver out of the backfield. He will give the Hogs’ offense someone that the quarterbacks can check the ball down to. Jointer is a scoring threat from anywhere on the field and he has the potential to have a huge 2021 season.
Quincey McAdoo Quincey McAdoo 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR Clarendon | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-Clarendon
The one position that was going to need addressed this recruiting class was the wide receiver position for the Arkansas Razorbacks. McAdoo is a tremendously gifted wide receiver. The Clarendon coaching staff does a fantastic job of lining him up all over the field and getting him the football. An aspect of McAdoo’s game that does not get the coverage it should is just how unselfish a player he is. He is a willing, unselfish blocker and he has no problem creating a lane for his teammates. Meanwhile, he is an explosive wide receiver that should have an opportunity to see the field quickly for the Razorbacks.
Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR -Offensive Line-Maumelle
To be successful, every offense must have a strong offensive line. The 2022 class in the state of Arkansas is a great class to build up the offensive line for the Razorbacks. Andrew Chamblee Andrew Chamblee 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Maumelle | 2022 State AR is a beast of an offensive linemen that has the ability to overpower defenders. He can be a devastating run blocker and he is always looking to get to the next level. Chamblee is 6-6 and 290-pounds and that is the size of offensive linemen that Pittman is looking for to come to play for Arkansas. Chamblee has the potential to see play on Saturdays early in his college career.
Meanwhile, the Arkansas coaching staff has not neglected the defensive side of the ball. Arkansas has been able to haul in some impressive players on the defensive side of the ball as well for the 2022 class. The defense was a unit that impressed Arkansas fans a year ago and fans are looking for continued improvement on the defensive side of the ball.
JJ Hollingsworth JJ Hollingsworth 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Greenland | 2022 State AR -Defensive Line-Greenland
Hollingsworth uses his speed to terrorize the opposing offensive backfield. At 6-4 and 240-pounds the Arkansas coaching staff has an edge rusher that uses his size well and can be disruptive, not just in the rushing game, but also the passing game. Hollingsworth does a good job of fending off blocks and making the tackles. A few months in a college weight program and Hollingsworth has the potential to be a beast along the defensive line for the Razorbacks.
Kaden Henley Kaden Henley 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Shiloh Christian | 2022 State AR -Linebacker-Shiloh Christian
Henley is the type of linebacker that the Arkansas Razorbacks have been looking for over the past few years. Henley has the cover skills and the hands to be a threat to the opposition’s passing game. He has impressive speed, and he is just as consistent in the rushing game as he is in the passing game. Henley is going to be one of the most important commitments the Razorbacks gain this season. The linebackers are going to need fresh blood after this season and securing the commitment of Henley is a big one for the Arkansas coaching staff.
The bottom line is that the Arkansas coaching staff securing in-state commitments is going to be key to improving the football team. Now all that is left for the fans to do is just be patient and wait to see if the coaching staff can continue to improve the football team.
