We’re back with another edition of York and Lancaster County 2022, 2023 prospects to watch! Check out the last edition of the series from April 5. We also wanted to highlight a 2024 quarterback in York County that you probably don’t know much about, but chances are you will heading into the 2021 season.
Catawba Ridge – 2022 OL Cade Purgason
Twitter: @cadepurg77
2020 Hudl highlight film
Analysis: Purgason is excellent at the left tackle position. He is athletic and can get to the second level. We saw on his film that he drives the defensive end right into the ground and doesn’t quit until the whistle blows. He’s solid in pass protection with good knee bend and use of his hands. He garnered All-Region honors with no sacks allowed during the 2020 season. He’s an outstanding student in the classroom with a 3.375 GPA.
Fort Mill – 2023 WR Jason Moran
Twitter: @Jason_moran11
2020 Hudl highlight film
Analysis: Moran is a solid slot receiver. He can take the top off the defense and display his speed on vertical routes, as he almost took one to the end zone on film. But his real strength comes in his ability to excel in the quick game. He can catch the bubble screens, hitches and out routes to pick up a quick five to 10 yards. He doesn’t dance in space as he knows to get north and south with the catch.
Lancaster – 2022 DE Fred Twitty
Twitter: @FredTwitty1
2020 Hudl highlight film
Analysis: Twitty lines up at the defensive end spot and can get after a left tackle. He has solid hands to where he fights off blocks and stop the run, winning the battle at the LOS. His pursuit is relentless, whether it’s not allowing the back to get going out of the backfield or chasing down a quarterback from behind. He gets it done in the classroom with a 3.0 GPA as well.
Rock Hill – 2024 QB Matthew Wilson
Twitter: @matthew76905115
2020 Hudl highlight film
Analysis: Wilson has the athletic ability that we haven’t seen out of 2024 prospects, let alone at the quarterback position. He has good pocket presence and he knows how to escape pressure and make throws on the run. He can let it fly on the deep ball, allowing his receiver to catch it in stride for a quick six points, like we saw on film. He is an excellent student in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA.
