Casey has had now a few camps where he has caught my attention and most recently at the second UND Flagship Camp of the summer. It doesn’t take long to see the growth he’s made over the summer when you watch his reps as the 6’5 260 pounder from 11AA champion Devils Lake had some reps in Grand Forks where you could see the power he has at disposal with his hands. An area where he can grow from what I grasped from UND, applies with his footwork as the 50/50 reps that could have gone either way in Grand Forks at times, showed oversteps that got him off balance but yet in my eyes it wouldn’t take much to correct for college coaches out there evaluating. He surely looks like a good fit for a Dakotas NSIC program from my lense as the upside is surely there to grow.

Casey is a 2027 offensive linemen that already has a NSIC offer under his belt, but I thought what I saw out of him at the SDSU Prospect Camp in the first session surely rose his stock on our 2027 North Dakota board. The 6’5 260 pounder has turned his rawer skillsets from last fall into more polished skillsets during the live eval in Brookings. He’s gotten smoother hands by showing off his growing pad-level on the muliple reps I got to watch from Casey on Monday. Another area of emphasis that has grown for Casey is how quick he generates leverage with his hands, as I surely saw more quicker generation in his reps last week. He’s one that I heard a few NSIC programs talking about at camp, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see more exposure come his way out of the conference.

Casey comes in as a stockriser in this group coming up from the watchlist to our OL10 spot out of Devils Lake. I am intrigued on tape with how efficent his first step appears to be and wastes no time gaining the leverage needed at the center position. He also is a solid run-blocker for his size as he puts defensive tackles in uncomfortable positions with how quick he is able to drive into his leverage. From an upside perspective, I would love to see more physicality with his punch and growth with his pad-level to hopefully become a consistent climber in our 2027 ND rankings.

The now 6’5 260 pounder is a constant second level-driver that has upside with his footwork still has growth, but is more balanced in his junior season. Casey is one that I feel has positon flexibility in the trenches at the next-level as I could see him as a pulling-guard at the next-level. He’s another North Dakota target that I hope to see the growth from our last Dakotas Showcase to our December one.
