October 2023 Eval: At 5’11” 175 he’s an explosive athlete that can be a gamechanger in all three phases. As a sophomore, he played more WR but projects as CB at the major D1 level. Flashes elite level game speed, change of direction, and acceleration. He’s got quick feet with good lateral agility to match movement at the short and intermediate levels. Stays balanced and is smooth in the hips to seamlessly transition out of his backpedal to turn and run with vertical routes. Love his ability to recover and get to top speed within a few strides. Plus ball skills, can track and adjust to ball flight to make a plays at the catch point. Forced to miss some games this season but is still one of the top 2025 prospects in the state with 13 offers, 11 of them being Power 5.

Dad, Cedric Griffin, played seven years in the NFL as a corner for the Vikings.

He’s a physical 6’0” 170 lb. corner with excellent speed, change of direction, and anticipation. Smooth in the hips he’s able to match lateral movement and accelerate coming out of his break to close on the ball. Sees the field well and brings heavy contact coming downhill as a tackler. Dad and brother both played at Florida State and in the NFL. Brother, Mario Edwards, currently is a DL for the Texans.

November 2023 Evaluation: Jones possesses a big frame at 6’1” 300 lbs. while showing good natural movement skills and athleticism at his size. He’s got good initial quickness in his feet and his hands to gain positional leverage out of his stance. Great natural strength at the contact point allowing him to control opponents and the LOS, powerful initial punch that gets blockers off balance. Does a good job extending his hands to separate and splitting blocks to free himself up. Shows he can work laterally down the line and chase, making backside tackles. High effort player that can get pursue into the second and third levels. Picked up some early P5 offers but is still under recruited and can take off this recruiting cycle.

Great combination of speed and strength for the interior DL at 6’2” 275 lbs. Does a good job using his hands to maintain separation from blockers and then shedding while locating the ball carrier. Plus athleticism gives his good command of a variety of DL moves.
