Out of all the New Addition defensive backs, I’ve probably watched Jaheem the most. At #115, he’s ranked alongside one of the best D2 prospects despite only having one D2 offer. Jaheem thrives in man coverage and is pretty polished fundamentally. In press, he does an excellent job of getting hands on his man and immediately affecting the route. Even if he loses a step initially, Jaheem has the athleticism and ball skills to usually get a hand on the football. I’m not quite sure why more D2s don’t offer, but I’m confident that more offers will come after a good season.

I saw Jaheem at more camps than anyone else on this list. Him and the Rouge DBs were everywhere. Plus, I’m frankly surprised that I haven’t seen many if any offers given to Jaheem or other Rouge DBs.
Jaheem flat-out knows how to play DB. He especially shines in press-man coverage, which many DBs struggle mightily with. In close-quarters, Jaheem has well above-average change of direction and has the ball skills to breakup most passes in reach. I also think he’s a half-step faster than the other Rouge DBs I’ve watched, but don’t get me wrong, the other Rouge DBs are also great. If Jaheem is able to perform well on the field and in the classroom, there’s no reason why a GLAIC team wouldn’t send out an offer.

Jaheem is a relatively new prospect to me. I’ve seen him 3-4 times in person over the past 50 or so days, and I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him each time. Often running with a pack of Rouge DBs, I’ve consistently liked Jaheem’s game the best. Compared with several other great DBs, Jaheem is a step faster and more reactive than most. On top of that, the stellar DB coaching at River Rouge makes me confident that Jaheem can play press, off-man, zone, etc. Lastly, Jaheem is amazing when the ball is in the air, being very good at breaking up passes. I’m frankly surprised to see Jaheem with only one offer from Wayne State. So, I fully expect him to be a great GLIAC prospect as the season rolls around.
