Measuring in at 6’4 220 he definitely possesses the size and body type to play at the D1 level. What I really loved was Ballinger’s movement skills for a young player of his size. Working on the cones he showed great body control and the ability stop and go in and out of breaks. He showed loose hips and the ability to corner well. He’s a fluid hands catcher. Ballinger came in with an offer from Miami of Ohio and I though he showed well why the Redhawks were bullish enough on the young tight end to offer him. I’m excited to watch Jackson continue to grow and develop and watch his D1 interest and offers continue to grow.
2025 LB Penn Picton Penn Picton 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Indian Hill | 2025 OH (Indian Hill) 6’0 200- Picton showed good explosiveness in his testing with a 9’1 broad jump. That explosiveness carried over to the drill work where he showed great acceleration and ability to get downhill quickly. He has fluid hips and quick feet. With Penn’s ability to change directions and come in out of breaks, he should be able to cover and run and hit. I’m looking forward to see what he can put on film this fall.
2025 OL Hogan Bloomfield Hogan Bloomfield 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Upper Arlington | 2025 State OH (Upper Arlington) 6’4 300- Bloomfield has showed great feet and ability to block in Upper Arlington’s physical run game. He showed the ability to anchor and pass block at a high level. Against smaller defensive linemen he mirrored well and played with heavy hands. He has the size and strength to take on larger defenders. I could easily see Bloomfield moving inside at the next level to maximize his abilities as a downhill run blocker. His versatility will be an asset to whoever scoops him up at the next level.
2026 QB Shane Cole Shane Cole 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Centerville | 2026 OH (Centerville) 6’1 170- I first saw Cole live last summer at Ohio Dominican’s summer camp in Beavercreek. He’s really grown physically and continued to develop as a quarterback since last summer. As a runner Cole is a legit 4.5 caliber runner in the 40 yard-dash. He’s a quarterback who will definitely be able to hurt teams with his legs as well as his arm. As a thrower Shane showed the ability to make all of the throws. He has a live arm that generates good velocity without trying to muscle throws. He had some nice tough throws as well on the day. I’m excited to see what Cole can do with a talented Centerville team in a strong GWOC conference this fall.
2025 DL Charlie Nelson Charlie Nelson 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Moeller | 2025 OH (Moeller) 6’1 215- Nelson first caught my eye in the 1v1’s when he showed a good burst off the edge. On another rep, he showed a nice crossover move to get inside and win the rep. For what he may lack in length he makes up for in quickness and bend. Playing at a school like Moeller Nelson will get to test and hone his skills against strong competition both in practice an on Friday nights. I’m looking forward to see what he’s able to put on film this fall.
