Jackson is one of the best pure tight ends in Central Ohio, if not the best. He’s a great blocker. He hits with precision and power. He can block out wide and at the line of scrimmage. He can work his way through the line to pick up multiple blocks on the play. He is also a solid pass catcher. He’s a good athlete and can work through zone coverage to find open space to catch the ball.

Ballinger was utilized mostly as a blocker in his freshman season. He was used both inline and in motion as a lead blocker. Even in his blocking you can see he has really good feet and is a high-level athlete. Ballinger shows good strength and physicality for a freshman. This summer could put him on the college radar if he can show some good route running and receiving skills. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Jackson.

– There aren’t too many high school programs in the country that wouldn’t be over the moon to have a 6-foot-4, 200-pound incoming freshman tight end/defensive end like Ballinger.
– A three-sport athlete (also plays baseball and basketball) that also deadlifts over 300 pounds, his athleticism is scary for his size. At Tight End can line up in the slot or split out wide and cause mismatch nightmares. Also has the speed to take end-arounds the distance or to pick up big yards after the catch
– The Centerburg High School football program in Ohio has made the playoffs for three straight years and has won the conference championship two of the last three years. Ballinger is the top kid, in a talented 2027 group, that looks to continue the trend for the Trojans
