I talked about GCA (Knox) quarterback Corbin Hobson Corbin Hobson 6'3" | 208 lbs | QB Grace Christian-Knoxville | 2027 State TN weekly this offseason. Most people likely thought I was overhyping him, but this dude can play football. He has developed nicely within a new program, and it’s showing. I do not have his stats from the game this week. But through six contests, he passed for 1,576 yards with 23 touchdowns and a 143.8 QB Rating.

He offers good size, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 205 pounds with a well-built frame. Something that goes under the radar is his athleticism. Hobson isn’t a blazer, but he possesses the mobility to extend plays or scramble if necessary.

His technique and footwork have improved this offseason, which helps. Hobson is an elite distributor of the football with the arm talent to push the ball downfield. I like his accuracy, touch, ball placement, etc. He has Division I upside.

Corbin Hobson Corbin Hobson 6'3" | 208 lbs | QB Grace Christian-Knoxville | 2027 State TN is a senior quarterback with a good, strong frame with projectable arm talent and athleticism for the collegiate level.

He has a natural ability to push the ball downfield and does it with excellent touches, constantly generating explosive passing plays in his first year playing for GCA.

He has the mechanics and arm talent to be a consistent quarterback for a college program. However, his offense is filled with playmakers and most plays consist of a single read, so he could need some time adjusting to the college game. It will be interesting to see the performance of the offense when he faces a top program in his classification.

While he is not explosive and does not look to run, he is a solid athlete that can pick up first downs as a scrambler consistently. He can be used on rollouts as well.

Overall, Hobson is a quarterback with good size that can attack defenses vertically and develop into a consistent throw in the intermediate part of the field once he adjusts to the college game.

Corbin Hobson Corbin Hobson 6'3" | 208 lbs | QB Grace Christian-Knoxville | 2027 State TN is the No. 1 quarterback that people are not talking about. He posted decent stats at Farragut High School the last few seasons, but was never able to put his talents on full display. Now that he’s at GCA (Knoxville), he has a bevy of talented pass catchers and an offensive line that could be one of the best in Division II-AA.

He has underrated arm talent, can push the ball down the field, is a smart football player, has one of the more accurate arms in the 2027 class and is relatively mobile. Hobson doesn’t have wheels like others in Tennessee, but he can create with the ball in his hands and even take off at times.

Moving to new pastures for his senior season, Hobson has a great shot at competing for Mr. Football due to his arm talent as well as the playmakers surrounding him. The Rams senior signal caller is one of the better pure pocket passers we have in the state that could be ready for his best season to date as long as he performs like we think he can and he stays healthy. What will help the cause is having talented skill players around him both in the backfield at running back and out wide at receiver. Hobson should have a solid O-line in front as well. There are a lot of pieces in place for this East Tennessee quarterback to have a banner year that helps his Rams team compete for titles but also puts himself in the mix to contend for the classification’s top individual award.
