New Jersey PRZ Next Combine – Top Performing Wide Receivers Pt.1
In this article:
If there was any position group that excelled Saturday afternoon in Hillsborough, it was the wide receivers. This group has some elite talent, and I have the highest expectations for these athletes as they enter the high school terrain. These are some of the names that are sure to pop off early in their careers and are in the business of making jaw dropping catches all year round.

is your man. Running a speedy 4.69 40 and 4.47 for the 5-10-5, Chaz is an electric wideout made to fly by the secondary and use his agility to break quickly on a route. Multiple times this weekend you’d find a defender getting tripped up in their back peddle as Chaz shook them up with a decisive change of direction. Often times he’d get the defender’s hips turned and convinced he’s heading downfield, just to make a 180 degree turn and be left wide open.
Not only was Chaz recognized on the offensive side of the ball, be thrived as one of the top DB’s at the combine as well. It is impossible to box Chaz into one position when he can flourish anywhere on the field. I was impressed with how quickly Chaz could open his hips up and get out of his back peddle when facing off against the wide receivers on this list. He has the ability to turn and run with the best of them. It will be interesting to see how Delbarton utilizes Chaz at the high school level. They are getting a multidimensional talent in

Looking back at my notes from Saturday’s camp there’s one word I put in all caps to describe Jacoby; BURNER. This kid can fly down the field and flat out embarrass DB’s if he catch them with their feet standing still. Running a crisp 4.59 40 yard dash, Jacoby showed the most impressive top end speed for the day. The thing is, Jacoby’s speed alone is enough to make him an elite wide receiver. However, on top of the elite speed, Jacoby does an excellent job changing speeds and accelerating out of his break, making it near impossible for defenders to keep track of his movement. He’s able to separate himself from the defender any time he changes speed and tempo, crossing up defenders along the way. With strong hands to go with quickness, Jacoby can catch a slant across the middle and take it the distance. In my opinion, Williamstown is getting one of the top 2028 WR prospects in the state.

has all the ingredients to be something special for years to come. Mekhi’s ability to force defenders the wrong way is off the charts. With Mekhi’s lightning quick feet, he’s able to stun the defender for a moment with a double move and proceed downfield wide open. He did it time and time again during the drills against the DBs.
If you want to see some of the best body control and body awareness from the camp, make sure to head over to Mekhi’s twitter. His catch abilities are on full display and deserve another look. Not only can he tightrope the boundary to stay in the field of play with his peripheral vision, but he can get vertical and land successfully in bounds with the ball in his hands.

was able to make it into the top 5 receiver group purely out of what we saw in the live action against the defensive backs. Twitchy off of the line, Kymore almost looked bouncy in the way he moved his feet, shaking the defender off of his route and opening up a window for the QB to throw into. It was very difficult for any defenders to stay with him when he put on a show like that, especially when they played up close and pressed.
Without getting hands on Kymore the defender is left to trying to mirror him through those first few steps, which proved to be a challenge. Kymore not only excelled from an agility point of view, but also as a pass catcher as well. He showed that he can high point the ball and snag it away from the defender when he had to compete for it. Kymore will be moving on to St. Peters Prep, a team that will be looking to bounce back after a 1-9 2023 season. Kymore has the potential to cause a seismic shift in how St. Peters is perceived.
