Previously ranked No. 45 out of 200 prospects, Maurice Gooseby Maurice Gooseby 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Germantown Academy | 2028 State PA now sits at No. 86 in a significantly expanded rankings field. On the surface it may look like a major drop, but my overall opinion of Gooseby has changed very little. Recruiting has not caught up to my initial evaluation yet, though I still view him as one of the better linebackers in Pennsylvania’s 2028 class. Currently unoffered, Gooseby remains one of the highest-ranked prospects in this range without Division I attention. At 6’0, 205 pounds with a 3.2 GPA, he possesses a profile that should eventually attract more recruiting interest. A former PRZ PA Showcase attendee, Gooseby has consistently remained on my radar throughout the evaluation process. In my opinion, he is still a Division I caliber linebacker and a legitimate Top 10 player at his position within the class. This ranking reflects my belief that Gooseby’s recruitment will eventually catch up to the player I see on film.

He flew around in coverage and made plays in space during tackling drills. Gooseby without a doubt earned a spot on my list and backed up his ranking on our site.

Physically impressive for an incoming freshman. Extraordinary muscular build with the lateral agility to get to get to the ball carrier anywhere on the field.

I can see him playing as a linebacker, safety, and some skill position on offense. At linebacker, he shows the athleticism to chase plays all over the field. Gooseby has a bright future in the 2028 class.
