Griffin is a hybrid TE/H-Back player for Woodgrove. He is a good Gap and Zone run blocker, showing good bend and technique with good explosiveness in his blocks. Has the athleticism to lead block through a hold and kick out defenders, in addition to sustaining his Zone blocks. Good competitive toughness blocking through the whistle, is not afraid to be physical against larger defenders, and can hold his ground in pass protection against blitzing linebackers. He displays soft hands in the receiving game offering a trustworthy security blanket for his Quarterback running short routes from any position he lines up in. Woodgrove likes to use him in play action and he does a good job at selling his run block fakes before releasing into his routes. Also, be sure to check out his defensive film as a linebacker and defensive lineman.
