The top-ranked prospect among 2028 NJ recruits was suited up for the Friday afternoon scrimmage. Brown’s first rep in the clip above proves the type of competitor he is, a tone-setting back who was frustrated when things didn’t go his way. I’m aware of the talent Brown brings to the field, not much he can do will surprise me at this point. I’m more impressed by his attitude, confidence, and presence in the huddle. I’ll be seeing him again this Fall.

The moment Tahmere Brown Tahmere Brown 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB/LB The Pennington School | 2028 State NJ , a Pennsylvania native, took his Texas Redshirt and transferred to 5-year postgraduate school The Pennington School in New Jersey, my friend and colleague Vic Castillo from Prep Redzone PA reached out and told me all about this phenom. Vic was not kidding and I am glad he did. I typically tend to overlook postgraduate schools due to the fact that they do not play much in-state competition, but Brown is simply too good to ignore. I view him as more of a tailback than linebacker due to the immediate burst of speed he has. What makes him a clear-cut dude is that he actually manages to continue to gain speed as he climbs into a defense’s back-end levels. On stretch plays to the outside Brown shows solid vision when he sees daylight. As big and sturdy as he is, you best bring your best technique and form to tackle; otherwise, expect to bounce off of him or sustain a blow from his lowered shoulder. Brown has also shown that he can get airborne, safely hurdling pile ups on his way to big gains. Quickly, as a linebacker he can quickly accelerate and get back to full-fledged pursuit speed if he is stopped in his tracks. In a similar breath he bounces right back up if he dips too low. Brown is also an excellent leverage tackler and commits to taking his read steps. A few more things I hope to see next ranking update are for him to tuck the ball tighter to his body, clips of him in pass protection and as a pass catcher, and clips of him in pass coverage.

Tahmere Brown was one of the best athletes at the Prep Redzone Showcase. His size, athleticism, and his ability to move makes him a rare prospect. I honestly don’t know his best position. On offense, he is a dynamic player who can play as a running back and as a wide receiver. On defense, he could play as a linebacker or as a defensive back. He is that elite of an athlete. At the showcase, he was one of the best players and excelled at the running back position. He stood out in a crowded running back group and showed how talented a prospect he was. Brown is one of the best athletes in the 2028 class and I cannot wait to see his progress next season.

Tahmere Brown stood out when I saw him at the Prep Redzone Showcase. He has impressive size and strength which is great considering he is just a freshman. He is also a good athlete for someone as big and physical as he is. He moves extremely well. He also has great quickness and burst. This kid can be a big-time Division 1 College Football player. Brown recruitment has already started to pick up steam with several Division 1 offers, I think more offers will come his way.

The top-ranked freshman prospect in all of New Jersey was in attendance this past weekend at Spooky Nook. I have gone on record on several occasions, stating each time that Tahmere Brown Tahmere Brown 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB/LB The Pennington School | 2028 State NJ is one of the more special talents I’ve laid eyes this past Fall. Having him in the building set the tone for all backs in attendance. Brown received 2nd-Team All-Camp honors. Looking back, I consider it an oversight on behalf of the coaches present to not name him a Top Five performer. I didn’t cover backs at the event, yet any time I looked over at Brown working through Indi’s or 1v1s, he was winning reps, and looking impressive when doing so. I fall to the coach’s evaluation in the end. Regardless of the fact, this is a Power Four back with a Power Four competitive drive to be the best he can be each day. Brown has PRZ in his back pocket moving forward.

Tahmere Brown is one of the best athletes in the 2028 class. He is outstanding as a running back and a linebacker. As a running back, he has an explosiveness to his game. He can score anytime he scores. I am excited to see him at this showcase because he will be one of the best prospects at the showcase. He has a chance to put on a show because of how talented an athlete he is. His recruitment has started to pick with him getting offers from Pittsburgh, and Florida State recently.

I’ll begin Tahmere Brown‘s portion discussing what I saw from the sidelines against the Hill School.

LIVE EVAL* Four touchdown runs, was in the end zone at least 6-7 times if we count 2pt conversions. Works primarily out of gun, has an advanced understanding of blocking scheme, understands when to press a hole, flips a switch in terms of gear, you can tell the moment he recognizes/reads a hole. Tahmere Brown is shot out of a cannon off the handoff. Brown’s first score would come via an outside-zone handoff that would have him read off-tackle. Brown would turn up-field after clearing some traffic/debris and accelerate like a track-star through the Hill’s secondary for a 70-yard score. Brown would take a similar set 80-yards for a score later in the game, a run in which Brown would out-accelerate two Hill DBs who actually had a step on him in the open field. Again, the kid is demonstrating otherworldly acceleration skills. I’ve witnessed my fair share of elite talent, Brown fits the mold, his performance has stuck with me to this day. His third touchdown, you guessed it, came off an off-tackle run that leads to a bounce-out, The Pennington School purposefully getting Brown out to the perimeter. Brown again would out-race the competition.

His mid-season tape is littered with reps like these, not to mention his prowess as a linebacker. He gets to show off his instincts and toughness when aligned here. These reps being icing on the cake. This is an offer-today freshman. I can write a novel on this kid, but I’ll keep this an easy read for now.
