Some already have major college scholarships. Others are still holding out hope for an offer.
The talent, however, is unmistakeable.
Here are some of our top ranked players in each position group who made the cut, joined by a position mate capable of rising up the charts before their time in high school is done.
DEFENSIVE LINE
Jaquavious Dodd Jaquavious Dodd 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Eastside | 2025 State SC Eastside – Dodd is a monster with length to spare. He was officially measured during the Joanne Langfitt Challenge at 6-foot-6 and 218 pounds. Given that, it’s not hard to see why he 24 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and 12 quarterback hurries last fall.
Jair Simmons Jair Simmons 6'1" | 300 lbs | DL Greenville | 2025 State SC Greenville – The defensive tackle was a little overlooked last season while sharing the line with two Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas selections. But his production was consistent throughout the season.
LINEBACKER
Cam’Rich Smith Cam’Rich Smith 5'9" | 200 lbs | LB Spartanburg | 2025 State SC Spartanburg – Smith is our top-ranked linebacker in the Class of 2025 because he brings a huge athletic upside to the table. He’s been clocked at 21.3 miles per hour (Langfitt) and plays extremely well in space.
Spencer Conn Spencer Conn 5'11" | 215 lbs | LB Daniel | 2025 State SC Daniel – The 5-foot-11, 215-pound rising senior led the Lions in tackles (148) and tackles for loss (15) and tied for the team lead in sacks (seven). With Daniel moving up to Class 4A this season, he’s expected to be one of the team’s biggest leaders.
DEFENSIVE BACK
Ramani Bruton Ramani Bruton 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Greenville | 2025 State SC Greenville – There’s only one defensive back in the state currently higher than Bruton, and he’s proved himself to be the top corner. He has shutdown capabilities and opposing teams almost never throw in his direction.
Isaiah Glymph Isaiah Glymph 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Newberry | 2025 State SC Newberry – Glymph brings a physicality to the defensive back position whether he’s in direct coverage or playing more of a safety role. He’s more than likely moving into our rankings in May, and we expect his performance at the Combine to solidify that.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Shedrick Sarratt Shedrick Sarratt 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Gaffney | 2025 State SC Gaffney – Sarratt (pictured) shot way up our rankings after a 2023 season in which he proved that his 6-foot-5, 290-pound frame works in a way that should have him playing this game for years to come. That type of size doesn’t grow on trees.
Kaleb Nelson Kaleb Nelson 5'11" | 285 lbs | OL Greer | 2025 State SC Greer – Nelson entered our rankings after a decent showing at Langfitt to cap off his junior season. He’s 5-foot-11 and 285 pounds, and he’s got good movement. When he stays tight, he almost always gets the first shot at leverage.
RUNNING BACK
Marquise Henderson Marquise Henderson 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Belton-Honea Path | 2025 State SC Belton-Honea Path – Henderson is a top-flight talent with the ability to make any defender miss and then leave behind. A 2,000-yard rushing campaign solidified his high school legacy with a year to go.
Reese Price Reese Price 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Wren | 2025 State SC Wren – In Price, Wren has a tailback that went for 1,274 yards and 16 touchdowns. His yards-per-carry metric is a bit low, but one lost fumble in 327 carries over the last two seasons tells us he might be ready to shoot through the roof.
RECEIVER
Jackson Repp Jackson Repp 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR Christ Church | 2025 State SC Christ Church – If Christ Church ever elected to go all-in on Repp, he might very well flirt with some national stats categories. He’s a high-volume receiver who runs excellent routes and turn on the jets when he needs to. Repp is that good.
Kyle Patterson Boiling Springs – Of all the receivers slotted for Spartanburg who aren’t already highly established, we’re super intrigued by Patterson. He led the Bulldogs in receiving yards and touchdowns last year. He excels in particular areas that will be highlighted during the combine.
QUARTERBACK
Cutter Woods Cutter Woods 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westside | 2025 State SC Westside – Mr. Everything added a state championship ring to his hefty haul last December and will enter the 2023 season as arguably the top quarterback in the entire state. We’ve currently got him parked at No. 2 overall because he’s been so dangerous.
Jordan Sink Jordan Sink 5'10" | 180 lbs | QB Woodmont | 2025 State SC Woodmont – Sink’s best weapon is his ability to hit receivers downfield on the sidelines. He’s got solid accuracy in that department and more than enough arm strength to put the ball where he needs to. The combine should be his chance to shine.
