This weekend the Elite Exposure Showcase held it’s event in Baltimore, MD and some of the state’s top talent was on hand to make a name for themselves. We will go over who some of the Top Performers on the offensive side of the ball were at each position group and other notable players.
Quarterbacks
The Top Performing quarterback on the day was Justin Carter from Concordia Prep. The 6’1’’ senior threw a very good deep ball and consistently put the pigskin in a perfect position for his receivers to make a play. Carter is still uncommitted, but between his film and this weekend’s performance, I believe he has what it takes to succeed at the next level.
Another impressive Quarterback was Matthew Parker from Gilman. Matthew, a class of 2023 gunslinger, was also very accurate in the one on one portion of the camp. With Parker at the helm, the Greyhound’s offense will be problematic for opposing defenses the next couple of years.
Running Backs
The Top Performer out of the pack was [player_tooltip player_id="90605" first="Micah" last="Robinson"] from Loyola Blakefield. The class of 2022 running back impressed with his speed, agility, and ability to get open in the one on one portion of the camp. Micah was also one of the fastest guys during the camp running a 4.53 forty, which was 2nd overall. Another notable performer was Keenan Gilchrist from Concordia Prep who ran a 4.6 forty during the camp
Receivers
The Top Performer out of the receivers was Kevin Carter from Douglas High School. Kevin was the fastest man on the day with a 4.52 forty, but was also the most impressive in the one on one portion of the camp. Not only does the speedy receiver posses straight line speed, but moves like lightning in a bottle. His combination of shiftiness, precise route running, and good hands allowed him to win the majority of his reps.
Another Top Performer was Avery Johnson from Gilman. Avery has very polished route running for an athlete in the class 2023, and won the majority of his reps using great technique and athleticism. The 6’1’’ 190lb receiver was also one of the fastest players during the day clocking in at 4.6 in the forty yard dash. Freshman, Kaedan Newsome, from Calvert Hall was also one of the more impressive receivers on the day.
Offensive Line
The Top Performer for the Offensive Linemen was Christian Ritter from St. Paul’s School. Ritter has the prototypical Division 1 size at 6’6’’ tall and weighing in at 280lbs. The big junior from St. Paul’s showed pretty impressive footwork in the one on one portion of the camp. At that size it’s obvious that run blocking wouldn’t be an issue for him, but his ability to use his technique, kick-step, and stay in front of quicker edge rushers shows why he will be one of the top linemen in the class of 2022 for the state of Maryland.
Other notable offensive linemen were Sophomore Amir Crawley from Gilman, and Freshmen Jamal Cole from Saint Paul’s. Both athletes played guard during the camp and were very impressive in one on ones.
