Thomas completed 72 percent of his passes for 303 yards per game with 33 touchdowns and ran for seven touchdowns last season for Western.
He chose Kansas over Auburn, Iowa State, Stanford and Utah among others. Thomas is the second player from California in Kansas’ 2027 recruiting class and the first quarterback.

Thomas had a case for MVP and was making some of the best throws of the day during the one-on-one period. He threw the ball better on Sunday than he did at the Elite 11 Regional earlier this offseason in my opinion. Thomas looked good in the individual drills as well and was throwing well on the run.

Thomas has always had a quick, compact release and it was on display again on Saturday. He looked a little smoother in his movements than when I last saw him. His game is better on film than it is in camp settings but he can still hang with anyone at events like these.

He was very impressive at the Elite 11 Regional and his arm strength has improved a lot since last summer. His delivery is smooth and he is a good athlete. Thomas has offers from Arizona State, North Carolina and Utah among others.

Thomas averaged 248 yards per game and threw 17 touchdown passes with just four interceptions as a sophomore.
He throws very well off-platform and does a good job keeping his eyes on the secondary while evading pressure. Thomas goes through his progressions well and is athletic enough to extend the play with his legs. Arizona, Arkansas and SMU have offered him recently.

The sophomore completed 18 of 25 passes for 331 yards and five touchdowns.
Thomas suffered an injury earlier this season and he made a big impact in his return.
