We know this is where football games are won and lost. It would be best if you had the big brawlers on both sides of the ball to control the game, and usually, the teams that do go far in the playoffs. College coaches continue to keep a close eye on the under-recruited 419 area code as some big-time prospects are starting to gain the spotlight. Here are a few big men in NW Ohio to watch for.
Ethan Green – OT
2022
Fremont Ross
University of Cincinnati (Verbal)
Scouting Notes:
Ethan had a great season the Fremont ross little giants offense put up record book numbers as they shocked the TRAC. Green has a background in Wrestling, and that has been one of the biggest selling points for him as he is dominant on the mat. Most believe that Green was due to win the state title in 2020 before the pandemic stopped the season short. On the football field, you can expect to see a tough and physical player out of Green. His ability to finish blocks and how he uses his leverage solidified why Power five programs have been knocking down his doors.
Luke Montgomery Luke Montgomery 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Findlay | 2023 State OH – OT/DL
2023
Findlay
Scouting Notes:
Luke has the potential to be a 1st round draft pick at left tackle. Wait, he is still only a sophomore in high school, but that doesn’t change my stance on this kid. Luke just received an offer from The Ohio State University, which is almost every kid growing up in Ohio’s dream. I had a chance to see Luke a few weeks ago; he certainly looks the part. Athleticism is this prospect’s strong point, and he will only get stronger as time goes on.
Dylan Fisher – DL
2022
Toledo Central Catholic
Scouting Notes:
Fisher’s physicality and athletic ability stand out when watching him on tape. In-person, you get to see how athletic he really is. Watching Fisher in bag drills gives you a good look at his quick feet and fluid lateral movement. Fisher is still looking to earn a D1 scholarship but has been hearing from many Mid Major schools as of late. Dylan is focused on getting strong this off-season, which will be a key factor in earning a D1 scholarship.
