High School Football in Calgary has a rich history of producing a lot of CIS, Division One talent for Universities in Canada and the United States. The class of 2025 is no different as there are a multitude of players who had excellent junior seasons that should put them firmly on the radar of recruits.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150090' first='Emmett' last='Pachet'] WR (Ernest Manning Griffins)

Coming in at 5'10" 163 lbs, [player_tooltip player_id='1150090' first='Emmett' last='Pachet'] is an explosive, twitchy receiver with speed to burn. He runs a 4.6s forty yard dash and it shows on film. He is a silky smooth runner who looks like he is gliding out on the field while also displaying the ability to have variable acceleration which allows him to beat defenders over and over while not running at the same speed. He isn't just a speed guy though he also has the ability to run a diverse amount of routes due to his ability to suddenly drop his hips and cut in an instant. Emmett should one of the hotly recruited receivers coming out of western Canada after having a really great junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150088' first='Finn' last='Goerzen'] QB (St. Francis Browns)

The starting quarterback as a junior for one of the best high schools in Calgary is rare and to actually standout is even rarer but that is exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='1150088' first='Finn' last='Goerzen'] did. Listed at 6'2" 175 lbs, Finn displayed the ability to be a very good processor with the ability to quickly read out the defense and get to his second or third read in under 2 seconds which is rare. He also has very good pocket awareness and mobility as he has the ability to side step a free rusher while keeping his eyes down field. He is a scrambler not a runner as he only scrambles when the pocket breaks down. Finn has the arm talent to make every thrown on the field from multiple angles with the only concern being that he has a slightly elongated throwing motion. Finn should be one of the top quarterback recruits for the class of 2025 in Alberta.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150086' first='Marco' last='Marra'] DE (St. Francis Browns)

[player_tooltip player_id='1150086' first='Marco' last='Marra'] is just a good football player who fits a defined role that every team needs. Listed at 6'1" 195 lbs, Marco is an edge setting, run stuffing defensive end. Marco doesn't have the physical tools to be an elite pass rusher who puts up big sack totals but he makes up for with a high end motor that allows him to be a second chance finisher on quarterbacks. He is very technically sound while being really strong which is why he is an elite run defender as he doesn't get pushed back which allows him to be consistently setting the edge and not allowing anyone to run outside of him. Marco should be someone who fits on every University team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150084' first='Donovan' last='Moody'] DE (Notre Dame Pride)

[player_tooltip player_id='1150084' first='Donovan' last='Moody'] is someone who can play in multiple positions depending on your defense but he primarily played defensive end where he had a great junior season. Listed at 6'2" 175 lbs, Donovan on tape plays and looks bigger than his listed 175 lbs. He possesses 5.1s forty yard dash speed which allows him to go by offensive tackle regularly but I think he is at his best in a two point stance coming downhill. He is a really sound tackler with very good lateral ability and straight ahead speed. If he going to stick long term at defensive end then he need to play lower as he often plays too high and he primarily relies on his physical tools to rush the passer. Donovan has all of the physical tools to play in multiple spots on a defensive which should make him a hot recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150081' first='Oliver' last='Norris'] WR (All Saints Legends)

[player_tooltip player_id='1150081' first='Oliver' last='Norris'] was the best reciever on his team this past season as a junior and he was able to show what makes him an excellent receiver prospect. Listed at 5'10" 160lbs, Oliver is a standout at winning at the catch point. He possesses good 4.8s forty speed that allows him to run every route with speed and pace but he truly shines at beating defenders in the air. Oliver has enough speed to separate but has such a wide catch radius because he can go up and get any ball within in his vicinity as he has bailed out his quarterback so many times often making a spectacular catch in the process. The one area Oliver can improve at is his ability to be sudden and drops his hips as he often plays to stiff which allows defenders to close the separation he creates with his speed forcing Oliver to make the spectacular catch. Oliver has every tool a University should want in a wide receiver.
