100+ kids filled the Iowa West Sports Plex on Sunday morning for the Prep Redzone NE/IA Stock Up Showcase. I had a great time getting to see so much talent including new faces and players coming back for another round of PRZ showcases. Throughout the day I took note of the players that I thought showed several flashes of next-level potential.
Here is the first part of my Stock Up Showcase standout players who showed up and took full advantage of this opportunity. Check them out!

put on a clinic at Sunday’s showcase, hauling in some of the toughest receptions I saw all day. Whether he was making a tough catch through contact or adjusting his body to make a difficult reception, Levi displayed excellent concentration and strength throughout the catch process. Sherman is a great athlete who elevates over defenders and goes up to high point the ball very well. Strong hands, tracks the ball very well, and can create separation. Watching him through drills, Levi impressed with his ability to get a clean release at the snap and use his size and strength to win against press coverage. Big offseason in store for Levi!

had a breakout performance that earned him DL MVP honors at the end of the showcase. Great combine— 4.97 40-yard dash, 5.1 shuttle drill, an 8’6″ broad jump, and a 7.97 L-drill. Kyler is a taller, lengthier player who does a great job firing off the ball and using his length to create separation at the line. He projects best as a defensive end where he can use his quick twitch and bend to beat offensive tackles off the edge. Great use of hands— Kyler displayed some violent hand use which when combined with his strength, can really throw blockers off balance. The Wolverines are a budding team and with guys like Kyler leading the charge, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a big season from them in 2024.

left a huge impression in my first in-person look at him. Brodie is also a tall, leaner defensive end who takes advantage of matchups with his lengthy frame and quick get-off. One thing that stood out to me about Brodie’s game was his ability to set up blockers with a move towards the outside, before ripping back across the lineman’s face to win his rep. Brunssen also displayed the ability to turn speed to power and create a great initial push. Brodie also showed his athleticism with great numbers in the combine testing. Brunssen ran a 5.03 40-yard dash, 4.82 shuttle drill, an 8’8″ broad jump, and an 8.37 in the L-drill. I didn’t see if Brodie took any reps at OL, but his tape does show potential to play OL at the next level as well. Definitely a guy to have on your radars!

Chris Ford | 2027 | DB | Sioux City East (IA) | 5’9″ 150 lbs
We had a very impressive-looking group of underclassmen in the building on Sunday, among them was freshman Chris Ford who had a great showing. The freshman prospect displayed a nice range of skills at both defensive back and wide receiver, with his defensive reps standing out a bit more, in my opinion. Chris looked solid in position drills, displaying quick footwork and fluid hips when changing direction. That transferred over very well to 1v1 reps where he combined his fluidity with his physical, aggressive mindset. Despite being one of the younger DBs in the group, Chris remained gritty and physical no matter who he lined up against. Chris also had a solid performance in the combine testing with marks of a 4.9 40-yard dash, 4.81 shuttle drill, an 8’11” broad jump, and a 7.94 L-drill. Bright future for the Black Raider’s youngster!
