Creighton Prep’s Ayron Shaw Ayron Shaw 6'3" | 270 lbs | DL/EDGE Creighton Prep | 2027 State NE has been busy putting in some work this offseason, and it’s showing in his recent uptick in recruiting attention. Ayron was a handful for opposing offenses last season as he tallied 18 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, and five sacks. When evaluating Ayron, the first thing that stands out is that he has put on about 30 pounds this offseason and is now listed at 270 pounds, which is huge in the trenches. This added bulk will make him even more powerful when looking to generate a push at the LOS. When you cut on the tape, you see a lengthy defensive lineman who can line up at the 3-tech, 5-tech, or even out wide, where he can use his quick first step and bend to beat tackles around the edge. His lengthy reach allows him to make contact with linemen before they can get a hold of him, and he is then able to follow through with a powerful rush as he drives through their chest. He tracks the ball when engaged with blockers and displays an excellent pursuit/motor to go after the ball once he’s broken free. Shaw isn’t just a power rusher, as he’s shown that he can use quick twitch and shiftiness to execute stunts, twists, etc., and get across a lineman’s face. Strong run defender and disruptive pass rusher. Missouri Western State, Sioux Falls, Drake (D1), Wayne State, Morningside, and Nebraska-Kearney have all offered Ayron so far.

Ayron is still holding out for his first offer, but has had great communication with schools like North Dakota, South Dakota State, and North Dakota State (visit).

Right alongside Jake is his classmate and fellow defensive lineman, Ayron Shaw Ayron Shaw 6'3" | 270 lbs | DL/EDGE Creighton Prep | 2027 State NE , who is also having a breakout year. Ayron is tied with Jake for the team lead in sacks with four, along with nine tackles and 3.5 TFLs. On the Prep defensive line, Ayron is responsible for manning one of the defensive end spots, where he has demonstrated the ability to win with either power or finesse. He has the strength to bully his way into opposing backfields with heavy hands and a powerful leg drive. Shaw has also demonstrated his ability to work the edge, using his quickness to fire off the ball and collapse the pocket on the outside, or he can use his impressive lateral mobility to cut back across the blocker’s face to win inside. Shaw does a great job in helping contain the outside run with the ability to shed blocks and continue pursuing the ball. Already an impressive set of skills with tons of upside!

Creighton Prep’s Ayron Shaw Ayron Shaw 6'3" | 270 lbs | DL/EDGE Creighton Prep | 2027 State NE played sparingly on the varsity DL rotation last season, but seems primed to erupt for a big year in 2025. Shaw stands out immediately with his 6’3″, 245-pound frame and a red-hot motor that you look for in your DE/EDGE rushers. Watching Ayron’s tape, I was really impressed with his ability to explode off the ball, using an electric first step and his lengthy reach to quickly create separation at the line of scrimmage and work his way into the opposing backfields. Shaw can bring speed off the edge, and he can use his lateral quickness to cut inside and win that way. Solid job setting the edge against the run. Big season incoming for the Jr. Jays defender!
