I went to St. Louis University High School to see the Jr. Bills face off against Cardinal Ritter. This was a hard fought, back and forth game for the most part but Cardinal Ritter was able to pull away in the fourth quarter for a 52-39 victory. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, here are my defensive top performers from Friday’s game!
Dominique Dixon
Dominique Dixon
Dominique Dixon is a highly regarded player that continued to impress this past Friday. He lined up all over the defense, mainly playing at safety but also taking snaps at corner and linebacker. Dixon was very impressive against the run, showing the ability to come downhill and finish tackles with a ton of physicality in the open field. He finished the game with 13 tackles. Dixon also showed the ability to blitz off the edge, coming away with one sack. He was also very impressive in pass coverage, showing the ability to read the quarterback and route combinations to put himself in a position to make plays on the ball. Dixon currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect more to come his way as he is a very talented prospect that has the potential to thrive at the next level.
Joseph Reed
Joseph Reed
Another member of the Cardinal Ritter defense that stood out to me on Friday was Joseph Reed. Reed lined up at outside linebacker where he was very disruptive as a pass rusher. He showed impressive speed off the edge which he used to blow by opposing offensive tackles. Reed finished the game with one sack and had multiple quarterback pressures. He also showed the ability to read the run and get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make tackles in the open field, finishing the game with five tackles. Reed currently holds offers from Graceland and Central Methodist, and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play outside linebacker at the next level.
Jacobi Oliphant Jacobi Oliphant 6’4″ | 180 lbs | DB St. Louis University | 2024 State MO is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress on Friday. He lined up at safety where he showed an impressive ability to fill the lane and get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he got the ball carrier, Oliphant proved to be a very reliable tackler in the open field. Jacobi finished the game with a team-leading 11 tackles. He also played a key role on special teams, returning a kickoff for a 98-yard touchdown. Oliphant currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect more to come his way as he is a very talented safety prospect.

Archie Carruthers Archie Carruthers 6’3″ | 255 lbs | DL SLUH | 2024 State MO is another player that has been on my radar for a while now that continued to impress on Friday. Carruthers lined up at defensive end where he was disruptive against the run. He showed the strength to fight through blocks and speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make tackles. Carruthers finished the game with four tackles. Archie currently holds offers from San Diego and William Jewell, and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Vince Chappuis
Vince Chappuis
To wrap up my defensive top performers from Friday’s game, I have Vince Chappuis. Vince stood out to me at defensive end where he was very impressive as a pass rusher. He showed the ability to use his speed and bend off the edge to blow by opposing offensive tackles to put pressure on the quarterback. Chappuis also showed the ability to read the run and shed blocks quickly then get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make tackles. He finished the game with four total tackles. Vince doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
