As the football season reaches its halfway point, it is evident that a few running backs have really stood out.

This report will look at five talented running backs who have proven themselves to be formidable opponents for other teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='251270' first='Xavier' last='Ramirez'] | Roosevelt | 2024

77 car, 749 yds, 16 TDs | 9 rec, 141 yds, 1 TD

Ramirez is an absolute force on the field. With incredible speed and agility, he is able to make quick cuts and change directions on a dime. He has a natural ability to find the gaps in the defense and burst through them with lightning-fast acceleration. He also has a knack for breaking tackles and fighting for extra yards. Has scored multiple touchdowns in every game of the season so far and leads the state in rushing touchdowns. Ramirez is a true game-changer who has an offer from Western Colorado, making him a player to watch out for.

[player_tooltip player_id='145655' first='Russell' last='Patton'] | Denver South | 2024

85 car, 893 yds, 8 TDs

Patton is a true power running back who is the state's second-leading rusher in yards. His explosive speed and incredible vision as a ball carrier make him a force to be reckoned with. He has the ability to make quick cuts and change directions with ease, leaving defenders in the dust. His ability to find the slightest creases within the defense and exploit them for significant yardage is a testament to his overall speed and toughness. Patton has relentless energy and determination, which will make him a game-changer and a valuable asset to any team.

[player_tooltip player_id='744118' first='Colton' last='Pawlak'] | Fossil Ridge | 2025

78 car, 615 yds, 8 TDs | 2 rec, 39 yds

Pawlak is an outstanding athlete with the mentality of a baller. His explosive speed, shifty cuts, and excellent vision make him the perfect candidate for a team in need of a change-of-pace scatback who could also be a three-down back. His athleticism is not limited to just his running abilities. In his most recent game, he threw a perfectly placed 39-yard fade pass that went for a touchdown. Pawlak is a physical player with the type of versatility that would make him invaluable to a program.

[player_tooltip player_id='547607' first='Chase' last='Riehle'] | Banning Lewis Academy | 2025

60 Car, 570 yds, 9 TDs

Riehle is a hidden gem from the Springs. He possesses breakaway speed that can rival any top-tier running back. His quickness and agility allow him to make sudden cuts and evade defenders effortlessly. He is a tough player who is not afraid to take a hit and will fight for every yard. Although Riehle may be more of an under-the-radar player, he has the potential to be a game-changer on any team willing to take a chance on him.

[player_tooltip player_id='777383' first='Trajan' last='Frasier'] | Arapahoe | 2026

70 car, 395 yds, 5 TD

Frasier is a young running back who has taken the state by storm with his outstanding abilities as a playmaker. He has a combination of speed and elusiveness that make him a nightmare for opposing defenses. His vision and instincts allow him to anticipate openings in the defense and make quick decisions. He is a dynamic and versatile weapon who can contribute in both the running and passing game. With his potential and natural talent, Frasier is sure to make a big impact at the next level.

As the football season reaches its halfway point, it is evident that a few running backs have really stood out.
