Jackson has been a tackling machine for the undefeated Logansport squad, recording 96 total tackles through the first seven games and leading all Indiana underclassmen in the category. Jackson flies to the ball, can deliver heavy hits, and flashes elite instincts. Also contributes on offense as a running back with 632 yards rushing. The 6-foot-0, 195-pound inside linebacker flashes great pursuit and range. He has a high motor, flows to the ball and wraps up. Can hustle and chase down running backs running off the opposite tackle. Along with being a great running back who can run through contact and stay balanced, he is an outstanding linebacker with great instincts, a nose for the ball and quick read-and-reaction time. Comparable to Andrean grad and Notre Dame linebacker Drayk Bowen, Phillips can put the team on his shoulders and has played a huge role in their 7-0 start. He is a hard-hitting thumper who can dislodge the ball and force fumbles against the run, and flashes being a solid pass rusher who can pressure opposing QBs.
