Linebacker Stock risers:

Defenses are built around strong linebacker play. There are no shortage of linebackers having massive seasons for there teams in the mitten state so far this season. Let's take a look at a few that are having big years and what's the one trait that has them standing out.

POWER. Antonio is your typical down hill linebacker. He has developed into a complete linebacker as we have moved past the mid year point of his junior year. He has become a better player in pass coverage and he continues to read and react to dissect plays faster every week. But with all that said Antonio hit's like a Mac truck. I have been super impressed with Antonio's raw power to take on lead blocker's and shed blocks to still make play's at the line of scrimmage. Antonio continues to have a massive year for Romeo and has the bulldogs primed for a deep play off run.

COMPLETE. Anquan has worked himself into a complete linebacker. The Grand Blanc linebacker has worked extremely hard to round out his game and he has done just that. Anquan has always been solid against the run but has become a much better defender in the pass game from his outside linebacker spot. Anquan still plays downhill against the run and has become a solid tackler at the line of scrimmage. I also like this Bobcats ability to react quickly to play action and still get good depth on his drop in coverage. Anquan works as hard as anyone and has taken his game up another notch this year for Grand Blanc and the Bobcats are reaping the benefits of this.

SPEED. Landon is a linebacker I have become very familiar with his game and he has become one of my favorite linebackers to cover in the 2028 class. As I watch Landon play I always come back to the speed Landon plays with. Landon shows excellent pursuit and has very good top end speed for a 220 plus pound linebacker. Landon plays side line to side line and when he arrives at the ball carrier delivers a boom to end the play. Keep an eye on Landon as he continues to round his game out. All the tools are there for him to play big time football at the next level and with another year to play my guess is he does just that.

DAWG. Really this is the perfect word to describe Hunter's game from his inside linebacker spot for the undefeated Wolves of Clarkston high school. Hunter flies around the field and hits anything that moves , but his ability to be disruptive at the line of scrimmage in the run game is his strength. I was able to watch Hunter live at the battle at the big house and Hunter was a beast all night helping to neutralize a very good run game against south Lyon. Hunter is a big time linebacker and has continued to get better every week for Clarkston as they roll through there season and get ready to make a deep playoff run this year and Hunter will be in the middle of all of it.

STEADY. Tanner is super consistent from his linebacker spot for the cougars. Tanner seems to always be in the right spot to make a play and when he arrives he delivers a boom. I am always impressed with tanners ability to get off from blocks and weave his way to the ball carrier. I also really like the way Tanner drops in pass coverage whether it's in man coverage or zone, Tanner always seems to be in a spot to make a play. Catholic Central is off to a very nice start this year and Tanner has been a big reason why. I am excited to see what Tanner has in store the rest of the year and what he does in the playoffs as the regular season winds down.
