These are prospects currently outside our rankings who showed enough on opening night to earn a spot on your recruiting board, whether it was production, athleticism, physical tools, or simply making plays that stood out on tape. It's still early, but these are some of the new names we'll be watching closely as the season moves forward.

Nymir Bryant is a prospect we've known for a while, dating back to his freshman season at St. Joe's, and now he's back on the football field with Expression Prep. The 2027 TE/EDGE has bounced around before settling in with the Lions and has spent a couple of years away from football, so there's naturally some rawness to his game. What stands out is his 6'5 210 frame and the athleticism that comes with being a basketball standout, giving Bryant a legitimate projection at either tight end or EDGE at the next level. He's still developing as a football player, but the physical tools and upside are hard to ignore, and this is a prospect colleges should get on their radar and could develop into a future star.

https://twitter.com/Ny_mir6/status/2094828348031611059

2028 EDGE Jaeden Robinette is a name to keep tabs on as he develops in Cabell Midland's program. Robinette saw defensive tackle reps in the Knights' Week 1 win over Oak Hill, but we like his long-term projection as a hybrid EDGE with his 6'1 200 frame and athleticism. A standout lacrosse player as well, Robinette's quickness and body control showed up from the interior, where he displayed good bend to shed blocks and dip underneath offensive linemen to create pressure. He's a high-motor player with plenty of time to develop, and the next two years could turn Robinette into an intriguing college prospect.

https://twitter.com/JaedenRobinette/status/2094136750557794588

We've had Jacob Claypool on our radar for a while, but this was the first chance to get some film on the 2027 Shady Spring WR/LB in his senior season. Claypool only played a half with the Tigers' first team in the win over St. Albans, yet he still showed the natural athleticism that makes him an intriguing football prospect. He's a fluid mover on defense who does a nice job breaking down and finishing tackles in space, with the versatility to play close to the line of scrimmage or work back in coverage. Claypool will also see his share of opportunities in the passing game, where his 6'0 175 frame and athleticism could lead to some big performances this year. He's a standout baseball player as well and an interesting two-sport athlete to keep an eye on if he decides to pursue football after high school.

2028 DL Elijah Smith has been on our radar since his middle school days but needed some time to physically mature before making his varsity debut for George Washington this season. He's added considerable size and is now around 6'0 220, allowing him to take reps on the interior of the Patriots' defensive front. He's still a little undersized for that spot as a college prospect, so the next two years will be important as we see how his body develops and where he ultimately fits best. Against a physical Spring Valley offensive line, Smith's quickness off the ball stood out, and he consistently fired off the snap with intent and was strong at the point of attack. His low pad level and leverage helped him disrupt plays, and Smith's motor showed up on film in week one.

https://twitter.com/ElijahSmit58872/status/2094234036000489876

This opportunity has been a long time coming for 2027 Martinsburg DL Jeremiah Sanabria, who earned a starting role on the Bulldogs' varsity defense as a senior. Sanabria got off to a good start versus an overmatched Hedgesville squad in Week 1, showing good quickness and effort that got him involved in several plays in a half of work. Sanabria's a smaller defensive end, but he has good lateral agility to keep contain and redirect fluidly during his rush. His active hands and athleticism help him stay clean off the edge, which suggests he could project as a stand-up EDGE or 3-4 OLB at the next level. Sanabria will see tougher tests as the Bulldogs move through their schedule, but he put himself on the radar in the opening week.
