Texas QB’s: Letting It Fly

<p>The quarterback landscape is starting to see some new names emerge, with several young passers making the most of their opportunities early in the season. These quarterbacks are beginning to show what they can bring to the position, whether it's making plays through the air, extending plays outside the pocket or taking control when their teams need them most. With plenty of football still ahead, this is a group worth keeping an eye on as they continue to build their names and make their mark.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bronson may not have the ideal size at the quarterback position, but he knows how to make his arm talent count. He can spin the ball well and deliver it to his receivers with good timing, giving his playmakers opportunities to make plays down the field. Bronson has shown he can operate the offense and make the throws needed to keep the chains moving.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jace has been putting together an impressive stretch under center, completing 55-of-67 passes for 931 yards and 9 touchdowns while adding 42 rushing yards and another score on the ground. His 82.1% completion rate stands out, but what really catches your attention is how quickly he gets the ball out and keeps his receivers involved. Emilio's ability to stay efficient and capitalize when opportunities open up has made him a quarterback to keep an eye on as the season continues.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Asher has been stacking big numbers early and has quickly become a name worth watching. With 800-plus passing yards, 11 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions, he's showing the ability to consistently turn drives into points. The production speaks for itself, and Asher has the confidence to attack defenses and make things happen when the ball is in his hands.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Caleb has been finding the end zone at a high rate, already accounting for 14 touchdowns with 790 yards through the air. What separates his game is the way he handles pressure he can slide, reset and keep a play alive instead of forcing the throw. That ability to create outside of structure gives Caleb another way to hurt defenses and keeps his offense moving.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Davis has been making the most of his opportunities early on, totaling 734 passing yards and 8 touchdowns. He's shown the ability to keep the offense on schedule and finish drives when the chance is there. With the production already starting to pile up, Davis is a quarterback worth keeping on the radar.</p>     <p>Lane is heading into Week 3 with the type of early-season play that gives him plenty of momentum. He has shown the ability to stay composed when the defense starts bringing pressure and still deliver the ball with purpose. His ability to work from the pocket while keeping the offense moving makes him a quarterback to continue monitoring as the season develops.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p class="text-gray-700">Eli has shown plenty of arm talent early on, especially when given opportunities to push the ball downfield. He does a good job generating enough velocity to attack windows before they close and isn't afraid to take his shots when the matchup is there. The more comfortable he becomes operating the entire offense, the more dangerous his passing ability can become.</p>     <p>Julian brings an exciting element to the position because of what he can create once a play breaks down. He isn't limited to standing in the pocket and waiting for a receiver to come open, as he has the athletic ability to escape and turn pressure into positive plays. His ability to keep a defense guessing gives him a quality foundation heading into another week.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p>Crawford has shown a good feel for managing the offense and taking what is available instead of forcing unnecessary throws. He has been able to work underneath when needed while still looking for chances to attack deeper portions of the field. That balance has allowed him to put his offense in manageable situations and gives him a strong base to build from.</p>     <p>Knox continues to show promise at the quarterback position, bringing a steady approach to the offense while making the throws needed to keep the chains moving. He does a good job working through his progressions and finding receivers when the pocket gives him time. Knox also shows the ability to extend plays when things break down, giving his offense another way to create yards.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brock has a knack for finding openings in the defense and getting the ball to his targets with good timing. His best work has come when he is able to settle into a rhythm and let the play develop before making his throw. He has shown enough in the opening weeks to make Week 3 another important opportunity to build on his progress.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Raul has shown encouraging growth in his command of the position. He is becoming more comfortable making decisions quickly and has demonstrated that he can make something positive happen when the first option isn't available. His ability to keep the offense moving without forcing the issue is an encouraging part of his early season evaluation.</p>     <p>Cole plays with an attacking mentality that immediately catches your attention. He is willing to challenge coverage and trust his receivers when a window opens, giving his offense opportunities for explosive gains. There is still room for him to refine some of those decisions, but the aggressive mindset and arm talent give him plenty to work with.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p>JP has shown a patient approach from behind center and has done a nice job allowing routes to develop before making his decision. That patience has helped him find opportunities that may not be there immediately after the snap. His ability to stay on schedule while waiting for the right throw has been one of the more intriguing parts of his early season play.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p>Nixon has the type of athletic ability that can change the way a defense has to play the quarterback position. When pressure arrives, he has shown the quickness to get away from it and create additional opportunities. What makes him even more intriguing is his willingness to continue looking downfield rather than immediately turning every broken play into a run.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p class="text-gray-700">Micah has shown the ability to attack multiple levels of the defense and isn't simply relying on one area of the passing game. His throws over the middle have given the offense opportunities to stay ahead of the chains, while his willingness to take deeper shots adds another layer. Continued improvement with his reads could help unlock even more of his ability.</p>     <p>Huntley has brought a steady approach to the quarterback position and has shown he can operate the offense without getting sped up. He has made the throws that are there while also showing an understanding of when to take a shot. His ability to control the pace of a drive could become one of his biggest strengths as the season continues.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p>Brady has shown some impressive anticipation with his throws early in the season. Rather than waiting for receivers to become completely uncovered, he has shown the ability to put the ball in areas where they can make a play. That timing can make a major difference at the quarterback position, and it gives him an intriguing trait to continue building around.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading"></h3>     <p>Maryln has been one of the more aggressive quarterbacks when it comes to attacking downfield. He has the arm to stretch coverage and isn't afraid to give his receivers chances on difficult throws. His athletic ability also gives him another option when the defense takes away the initial passing look, making him a quarterback defenses have to account for in multiple ways.</p>     <p>Caleb has shown a strong ability to operate when things don't go exactly according to plan. He can adjust his feet, move around pressure and still get the ball out without completely abandoning the passing play. That ability to create outside the original structure has been an important part of his early-season evaluation and gives him plenty to build on heading into Week 3.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jason has shown good rhythm as a passer and has done a nice job getting the ball into his playmakers' hands. His quick decisions can help keep the offense moving, particularly when he identifies the matchup he wants before the snap. As he continues to see different defensive looks, his ability to recognize those changes will be worth watching.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ryle has shown a combination of arm strength and athletic ability that gives his game plenty of upside. He can attack vertically when the opportunity presents itself, but he also has the mobility to make defenses pay when coverage forces him out of structure. The next step is continuing to put all of those tools together from snap to snap, which makes his Week 3 performance worth watching.</p>    <p>As Week 3 approaches, this group of quarterbacks continues to give us plenty to watch across the state. Each player brings something different to the position, whether it is arm talent, mobility, accuracy, playmaking ability or the way they control an offense. The early part of the season has already provided several strong performances, but there is still plenty of football left to be played. As the competition gets tougher and the games carry more weight, Week 3 will be another opportunity for these quarterbacks to show growth, make plays and continue building their names as the season moves forward.</p>
