Sharp Shooter QBs In 75-Percent Completion Club

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are three games deep into the '26 season and the ballers are already stepping up to showcase their game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There have been a number of impressive offensive displays so far, both at a team and individual level, but one area in particular has been interesting.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Completion Percentage.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the high school level the top-level guys usually complete in 60+% range, with a lot of factors coming into play (i.e. depending on the offense run, competition level, etc). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are usually a few outliers completing in the 70+%-range, but you can <em>usually</em> count them on one hand.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Needless to say, I was surprised when I took a closer look at the completion percentages and saw there was close to double digit QBs still completing over 70%, <em>with two of them over 80%</em>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In this report we will take a look at the sharp shooters from throughout the state who have taken completing passes to a different level so far this fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So, without further adieu, let's check these guys out: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rarefied Air - The 75%+ Club:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Truitt King</strong>, 6'7, 200, QB/DB, <em>Beloit</em>, '29 - <strong>81%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (52 of 64, 864 yds, 11 TDs, 1 interception). Word is already out that there is a 6'7 gunslinger in Western Kansas and so far he is off to a blistering-hot start. After an opening day loss to a ranked-SES team, he has led the way to a 2-1 record. In their last two wins he has completed a staggering 36 of 41 (88%), for 670 yds, 9 TDs &amp; 0 picks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Caden Ledesma</strong>, 5'11, 175, QB/DB, <em>Ulysses</em>, '27 - <strong>80% </strong>completion percentage through 3 games (59 of 74, 785 yds, 7 TDs, 1 interception). He has flown under the radar so far but his play has been impressive, leading the <em>Tigers </em>to a 2-1 start. Last week they suffered their first loss to <em>Holcomb</em> and in that game he played lights out, completing 33 of 40 passes for 352 yds and a pair of TDs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='944906' first='Blade' last='Clark']</strong>, 6'0, 195, QB, <em>Derby</em>, '27 - <strong>76%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (22 of 29, 476 yds, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions). He has led the <em>Panthers</em> to a 3-0 record and are ranked as high as #2 in the 6A rankings. In those three wins they have not been challenged so the starters saw limited time, but he has been lethal with the ball in hand so far this year, with 590 APY and 12 TDs running and passing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1643737' first='Reign' last='Illian']</strong>, 6'4, 205, QB/ATH, <em>Maize South</em>, '27 - <strong>75%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (51 of 68, 732 yds, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions). He and his teammates ran into a buzzsaw last Friday, losing to <em>Maize</em> but he is off to a hot start, including a 6-TD performance in game two. In addition to the elite completion percentage he is also averaging 2+ TD passes per game and thrown zero interceptions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1579585' first='Jerick' last='Humphreys']</strong>, 6'1, 195, QB/ATH, <em>Hesston</em>, '27 - <em>(PICTURED ABOVE)</em> - <strong>75%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (45 of 60, 665 yds, 9 TDs, 0 interceptions). This gunslinger has led his team to a 3-0 start and last Friday continued his hot hand in a 41-7 win over <em>Pratt </em>when he completed a sizzling 18 of 20 passes for 261 yds and 5 TDs. He also ran 9 times for 47 yds to give him 308 APY and 6 TDs running and passing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Flying High - The 70%+ Club:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1113114' first='Luke' last='Stewart']</strong>, 5'11, 175, QB/DB, <em>Council Grove</em>, '27 - <strong>71%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (30 of 42, 497 yds, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions). He has led his team to a 3-0 mark and two of the the three have been blow outs, including last Friday's 66-0 win over <em>West Franklin</em>, so he hasn't seen a lot of playing time but when he has been in he has shined, particularly his 8 TD passes to zero picks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1445596' first='Justice' last='Criniere']</strong>, 6'0, 185, QB/DB/ATH, <em>CPA</em>, '27 - <strong>71%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (27 of 38, 345 yds, 4 TDs, 2 interceptions). It has been an up and down start for this baller but he has still continued to perform at a high level and continues to show why he is one of the top dual-threat QBs in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2351303' first='Blace' last='Rodina']</strong>, 5'11, 165, QB/ATH, <em>Spring Hill</em>, '29 - <strong>70%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (28 of 40, 456 yds, 8 TDs, 0 interceptions). This young gun has been impressive right out of the gate in leading his team to a 3-0 record, including last week's 49-6 win over <em>Leavenworth</em>. In the season opener he showed he was ready, firing 13 completions in 18 attempts for 255 yds and 4 TDs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Landen Lewis</strong>, 6'0, 195, QB/ATH, <em>Rossville</em>, '27 - <strong>70%</strong> completion percentage through 3 games (49 of 70, 559 yds, 4 TDs, 4 interceptions). In addition to getting off to an efficient start passing he has carried the ball 54 times for 360 yds, averaging 7 yds a carry and added another 7 TD to give him 919 yards and 11 TDs, both numbers that put him in the top 5 in the state so far this year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In conclusion, get out and watch these guys sizzle this fall.
