Grant moved up one spot to become the top receiver in Iowa's 2028 Class, according to Prep Redzone's recent rankings update. The Sioux City East junior is one of the better receiving prospect to emerge from the state in recent memory. Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Illinois, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and Purdue have reportedly offered scholarships. His stock is soaring and could take off further with what is expected to be a superb season with the Black Raiders. Grant is a handful to cover with his speed, advanced route running, large catch radius and leaping ability. It's a projectable frame capable of filling out and adding the necessary strength for blocking.

Stephens is ranked as the No. 2 receiver in Iowa's 2028 Class per the latest update from Prep Redzone. The Waverly-Shell Rock junior sits in the top tier of the position for this cycle with [player_tooltip player_id='1650312' first='Isaiah' last='Grant']. That adds context to the ratings. Stephens has as much potential as anyone and could also find himself playing another position on the next level. His athleticism, speed and power potential provide path to success at other spots. As a receiver, Stephens is polished despite missing most of last season with an injury. He can beat bigger defensive backs with speed and outmuscle smaller ones. Reliable hands and crisp routes also make him a tough cover. Stephens is a weapon in the return game, too.

Carter saw one of the biggest jumps in the new Prep Redzone Iowa rankings update for the 2028 Class. The Cedar Falls junior rose up 154 spots to No. 15 overall and checked in as the No. 3 receiver. He spent his sophomore season of 2025 developing on the non-varsity level. It was time well spent as he earned a scholarship offer from hometown Northern Iowa after camping with the Panthers this summer. They seem to like him as a defensive back, which makes a lot of sense. The size and athleticism in the secondary is coveted. So, there's a chance Carter could show up on the other side of the ball in the next rankings update. That said, the plan is for him to play both ways this season and time will tell at which position he best fits on the next level.

Coenen remained the No. 23 prospect in Iowa's 2028 recruiting class when the rankings were recently updated. He's a big reason why Woodbine found itself in the eight-player state title game last year. The junior was listed as the fourth-ranked receiver, a position he played quite well last year. His frame is filling out, however. A progression to tight end, where his speed and agility would play up even more, also is in play. Defensive end could be a consideration on the next level, too. The bottom line is that Coenen has Power 4 potential as an explosive athlete with a projectable frame and a high ceiling.

Decena stands out for crazy special athleticism. The Centerville junior is really good at baseball. It feels like that might be his favorite sport. And a future standing out on the diamond in college and/or pro baseball is easy to envision. That said, we here at Prep Redzone like what we see on the football field. The dynamic receiver hauled in 44 balls for 771 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. The talent prep impressed when watching his 10th-grade highlight video from last fall. With another offseason of training and varsity experience under his belt, Decena appears poised for another productive season that will attract more attention on the gridiron.
