This is something that began for us at PRZ-Oklahoma in 2021 and it continues to get bigger and better every single year. We're looking forward to diving deep into the top teams across the state in every class. From defending champions, to the top contenders and plenty of dark horses and other teams to know, we'll have complete coverage every single day. There will be multiple previews dropping every single day! In this post, we take a look at the Westmoore Jaguars!

RELATED

- Westmoore Video Preview With HC Coleman Ramsey

Westmoore Jaguars

Preseason Prep Redzone Ranking: UR In Class 6A-1

Head Coach: Coleman Ramsey - 2nd Season - 0-10 Record At Westmoore

2025 RESULTS (0-10 Record - Missed Playoffs)

Aug. 29th - Lost To Moore 38-13
Sept. 5th - Lost To Southmoore 19-7
Sept. 19th - Lost To Mustang 62-13
Sept. 26th - Lost To Yukon 49-24
Oct. 3rd - Lost To Norman North 43-20
Oct. 10th - Lost To Owasso 52-7
Oct. 16th - Lost To Edmond Santa Fe 41-20
Oct. 24th - Lost To Edmond Memorial 38-7
Oct. 30th - Lost To Union 44-7
Nov. 7th - Lost To Broken Arrow 62-14

2025 Offensive Scoring Average: 13.2 Points Per Game
2025 Defensive Scoring Average: 44.8 Points Per Game

There is no doubt that the Westmoore Jaguars went through a turbulent 2025 football season. A week before their season kicked off, head coach David White stepped down and assistant coach Coleman Ramsey was named interim head coach and ultimately the next head coach of the Jaguars. Between that and having a very young team, the Jaguars were put in a place where finding consistent success was going to be a battle week in and week out. They opened the year with three straight losses in non-district play, including rivalry losses to Moore and Southmoore. Things didn't turn around when the district slate opened up. But that is life in Class 6A-1, where teams that are at the bottom of this class would be a state championship contender in 6A-2. The Jaguars would finish the regular season with an 0-10 record, with their closest game being a 19-7 loss to Southmoore. Now, as the page turns and we get closer and closer to the start of the 2026 season, there is no doubt that the Jaguars will come into the new season with a massive chip on their shoulder. After the way last season played out, the Jaguars will come into 2026 hungrier than ever to not only turn things around but make a lot of noise in the process.

2026 OUTLOOK

Westmoore comes into this season with a full offseason under Ramsey as their head coach. Things are not as rocky going into the season as they were at this time a year ago. They also have some serious young talent on this roster that went through growing pains last year and are ready to take that next step in 2026. Now, things are still going to be tough heading into this season but again, like we mentioned earlier, that's life for teams in Class 6A-1, which has most certainly become the “SEC of Oklahoma high school football” and that's not up for debate. Four starters return on the offensive side of the ball. But when we look at those names and this roster as a whole, the conversation is going to start on the offensive line. There is a lot of potential and strength there for the Jaguars to have foundational pieces for those new names coming up in the skill department. Westmoore will need those new names to come up quickly on offense. They only bring back three starters on the defensive side of the ball. And because of how much of a gauntlet 6A-1 is, it will feel like baptism by fire for those new faces on the defensive side of the ball. If they can come along quickly and get off the field early, they will have a chance to pick up some momentum.

KEY LOSS TO GRADUATION

Tay Herlong - Defensive Back

PLAYERS TO WATCH

2029 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='2124457' first='Austin' last='Skinner'] first got on our radar around this time last year. We were told to watch out for this 6'6 offensive lineman getting ready for his freshman season. The Jaguars threw him into the lineup right away and he answered the call. The ceiling for Skinner moving forward is incredibly high. He got better and better throughout the season and had a very strong offseason. It feels like it's only a matter of time before his recruitment starts to take off. In our opinion, he's one of the better ‘29 OL prospects in the state. And the scary thing for 6A-1 is there are two of them.

We mentioned Westmoore's strength coming into this season would start on the offensive line. The Jaguars have two foundational pieces at each tackle position but the leadership of this group will start with 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1837100' first='George' last='Adams'] as he prepares for his senior season. He returns as a starter on the Westmoore offensive line and he'll be one of the senior leaders of the team in general. If the Jaguars can come together and get some of those new skill players to grow up quickly, Adams and company will be able to have success on the line of scrimmage and make things happen.

2028 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1829010' first='Jayden' last='Diaz'] is one of the skill players that returns for the Jaguars with some experience in 2025. Westmoore will be breaking in a new player at the quarterback position this fall. Don't be surprised if Diaz ends up having a monster junior season from a production standpoint. His experience in this offense will certainly put him in a position to lead the team in receiving this season. The Jaguars are going to have some breakout players in the skill department but look for Diaz to be the guy early on and emerge as a leader in this offense.

Talking with Westmoore's coaches this summer, one position combo that they really liked was the linebacker group. A lot of those guys will also turn around and play some tight end on the offensive side of the ball. 2027 tight end and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1830867' first='Kelby' last='Brewer'] will be a pivotal two-way player for the Jaguars this season. Similar to Adams, there's no doubt that Westmoore will lean on Brewer this season to be senior leader on this year's squad. Brewer will see some time on offense but we believe that he will have his greatest impact this season on the defensive side of the ball.

2029 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='2124459' first='Tyler' last='Skinner'] is right there with his twin brother Austin as the two towering prospects on this Westmoore offensive line moving forward. Like his brother, Tyler was thrown into the lineup last season and started against 6A-1 competition all season as a freshman. And like his brother, you saw steady growth and overall progression as the season moved along. One year later, he's gotten bigger and built some muscle to go on his 6'6 frame. The fact that the Jaguars have to identical 6'6 offensive linemen will set them up for a lot of success.

MORE NAMES TO KNOW

Cason Cohea - 2029 Tight End/Linebacker
Chris McAlister - 2029 Tight End/Linebacker
Devin Jefferson - 2030 Running Back
Kypton Kennmore - 2030 Quarterback
Nathan Delao - 2027 Defensive End
Rodney Moore - 2029 Tight End/Linebacker

2026 SCHEDULE

Aug. 28th - AT Moore
- The 2026 season kicks off with the annual rivalry game with Moore in week zero. These two have opened the season against one another in each of the last two years. Westmoore has dominated this series for decades but the Lions have had the edge recently, winning the last two meetings and three of the last five against the Jaguars.
Sept. 4th - Norman
- Westmoore's home opener comes in week one against Norman. The Tigers have dropped down to Class 6A-2 for at least the next two years. These two teams met in the first round of the 2024 playoffs and the Tigers won. Westmoore will be looking for their first win over Norman since the 2020 regular season, when they won 39-35.
Sept. 11th - Yukon
- The Jaguars wrap up non-district play with a home game against Yukon in week two. These two teams were district opponents in each of the last two years and the majority of the last decade. Westmoore lost to the Millers 49-24 last season but they are 9-3 against Yukon since Class 6A was split into two divisions in 2014.
Sept. 25th - Southmoore
- Westmoore opens district play against Southmoore in week four. The Sabercats are back in Class 6A-1 after spending the last two seasons in 6A-2. In those two years, they were able to beat the Jaguars in both seasons. Prior to the 2024 meeting, Westmoore had won nine straight in the series and look to get back to that in 2026.
Oct. 2nd - AT Bixby
- The Jaguars head to the Tulsa area to face defending champion Bixby. Westmoore will know exactly where they stand after this match-up as the Spartans have become the measuring stick team of 6A-1. They haven't played the last two years but were district opponents in 2022 and 2023 and Bixby won each meeting by 50 points or more.
Oct. 9th - Broken Arrow
- After facing Bixby on the road, Westmoore returns home to host Broken Arrow in week six. These two teams have been district opponents every year since 2012 and it's a series that Broken Arrow has dominated. They won last year 62-14 but we're not that far removed from 2023, when the Jaguars got their first ever win over the Tigers.
Oct. 15th - AT Edmond North
- On a Fall Break Thursday night in week seven, Westmoore will head up to Edmond to face Edmond North. Whoever loses this match-up is going to have a lot of work to do in order to make the playoffs. These two teams haven't played since 2017. Westmoore won that meeting 42-17 and have won the last two match-ups in the series.
Oct. 23rd - Norman North
- Westmoore's only home game in the final four weeks comes here with a week eight match-up against Norman North. This is another series in which the Jaguars are looking to turn things around. They lost 43-20 last year and have dropped five of the last six. But they did win 27-24 in 2024 and that helped them get into the playoffs.
Oct. 30th - AT Edmond Memorial
- The first of back to back road games to end the regular season starts here with a trip up to Edmond to face Edmond Memorial. The Jaguars come into this season looking to snap a three-game losing streak to the Bulldogs. They lost 38-7 last season. Prior to this losing streak, Westmoore won six straight against Edmond Memorial.
November 6th - AT Mustang
- The regular season wraps up with a trip over to Mustang to face the Broncos in week ten. These two teams were non-district opponents in each of the last two years and Mustang rolled in both meetings. Prior to the 2024 meeting, Westmoore had won two straight and three of the previous four match-ups. They'll look to pull the upset prior to the playoffs starting.

NOTABLE

Westmoore comes into this season looking to turn things around in a major way after going 0-10 during the 2025 season. One thing that is certainly on the “to do list” for the Jaguars is turning things around in the city series. They'll get that opportunity in the first month of the season. The Jaguars open up the season against rival Moore in week zero. And then they open up district play in week four against Southmoore. The Jaguars have lost to both rivals in each of the last two seasons. Prior to the 2024 season, that had never happened in program history. They always had at least one, if not two wins over their rivals. 2024 was the first time they lost to both teams and then that happened again in 2025. We mentioned earlier in the preview how Westmoore is coming into this season with a massive chip on their shoulder. That's a big reason why and they will get their opportunity to turn things around early on in the season.

LAST FIVE SEASONS

2025 - 0-10 - Missed Playoffs
2024 - 2-9 - Lost In Class 6A-1 1st Round
2023 - 7-5 - Lost In Class 6A-1 Quarterfinals
2022 - 3-8 - Lost In Class 6A-1 1st Round
2021 - 2-8 - Missed Playoffs

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

0 State Championships
