UPDATED: Washington 2028 Rankings (Top 200) 1-25

Per usual rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. You can be an outstanding HS athlete and not project to a high level of collegiate ball. As a sophomore, he put together some of the best film I've ever seen, finishing with 33 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 7 TFL's. His ability to maneuver with his size is incredibly unique.   The Metro League Defensive Lineman of the Year as a sophomore. Havili ranks among the top 20 D lineman in the country and will likely continue to blow up in the coming months.    2.[player_tooltip player_id='1003593' first='Tytan' last='McNeal'] 6-5 220 TE/DE Eastside Catholic OFFERS (25) Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, USC   UPDATED: One of the top 10 TE's in America and currently the highest ranked uncommitted athlete at his position nationwide. You rarely see a 4* dual sport athlete, but that is McNeal.    The 4* TE ranks as the state's top basketball prospect for his class just to put into perspective how different he is. McNeal earned 1st team all-conference honors on both sides of the football this past season and could be one of Washington's most decorated recruits ever.    3.[player_tooltip player_id='985348' first='Jayce' last='Halasz'] 6-2 185 WR/DB Graham Kapowsin OFFERS (15) Alabama, Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Wisconsin   UPDATED: Currently ranked as high as the #11 receiver in the country. The 4* Halasz continues to blow up on a national level. This is a kid we talked about at length when he had no offers, and he has more than backed up the hype.    Halasz is an unquestioned double digit D1 offer athlete. He was a 1st team all-league WR and 2nd team DB as a sophomore, catching 64 passes for 1,023 yards and 12 TDs. The film speaks.    4.[player_tooltip player_id='984855' first='AJ' last='Tuivaiave'] 6-3 245 QB Graham Kapowsin OFFERS (11) Washington, Oregon, BYU, Ariz St, Miami    UPDATED: You couldn't put up better numbers this early in your career, with the 2X POY already closing in on 6000 yards passing and 60 TD's with two seasons to go. Wherever he ends up collegiately, he is going to produce. Anything less than a state title this year at GK will be inadequate.    The 2x SPSL POY is the real deal. This past season he passed for 3000+ yards and 32 TDs/2 INTs with a 70% completion pct. He currently ranks as the nation's #12 QB, and it would be big-time if the Huskies kept him home.    5.[player_tooltip player_id='984781' first='Markel' last='Newell'] 5-11 180 Safety Puyallup OFFERS (11) Washington, Arizona, Arizona St, UNLV, Boise St   UPDATED: When all is said and done, I think Newell will go down as one of the top safeties ever to play in the state of Washington. I see him adding some additional high profile offers and being a Sunday guy.    As referenced, Newell is special and plays with a Budda Baker type mentality. He went for 52 tackles, 8 TFL's, and a pick to the house as a sophomore. He will be a conference and state POY favorite along with his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1188110' first='Michael' last='Pulalasi'] next season.    Newell has some of the most impressive freshman film that I have seen. His overall physicality and instincts as a youngster are incredibly unique. Look for him to be in the Conference POY conversation this year, and likely double his numbers from last season, where he made 30+ tackles with multiple INTs.    6.[player_tooltip player_id='1012408' first='Kaden' last='Johnson'] 5-11 170 CB Bellevue OFFERS (16) Auburn, Texas AM, Utah, Florida St, Kansas St   UPDATED: The standout corner let his play do the talking, MVPing multiple collegiate camps this offseason, including The Northwest Showcase at WOU, the largest event on the west coast. Bellevue will be a favorite to win the 3A title.    To say that Johnson has a rising stock would be a huge understatement, recently adding a handful of high profile offers. He had a solid 2025 campaign making 46 tackles with 12 PBU's.    7.[player_tooltip player_id='1857585' first='Kyler' last='Harden'] 6-6 300 T O'Dea OFFERS (9) Washington, Oregon, Auburn, Penn St, UCLA   UPDATED: The 6-6 tackle Harden has a stock which has shot through the roof, while only playing in the final 5 games of the year, with O'Dea going back-to-back. If he gets a full healthy season under his belt, his film could be some of the best anywhere.    One of the fastest rising line prospects in the West. Harden played in limited games due to injury, but it looks like the word has gotten out on his ability.    8.[player_tooltip player_id='1012776' first='Matthew' last='Curran'] 6-4 255 DE Bellevue OFFERS (4) Arizona, UNLV, San Diego St   UPDATED: The big explosive DE just continues to rise in the rankings with a handful of legit offers and increased size and speed. Look for Curran to have a POY type season for the Wolverines.    The film speaks for itself. Curran is incredibly versatile, being able to play multiple spots on the defensive front. Credit to SDSU on being the first to offer as he will have numerous options at the D1 level.     9.[player_tooltip player_id='1335521' first='RJ' last='Ward'] 6-1 205 RB/S Bellevue OFFERS (5) Arizona, Boise St, Washington St   UPDATED: Ward is a power guy who will likely project on D but could be the best running back in the NW for his class. He will battle his own teammate (Jimerson) for that honor.    I expect Ward to put up some monster numbers the next two seasons with him and teammate [player_tooltip player_id='986705' first='Dreson' last='Jimerson'] being one of the best pair of backs in the NW. As good as he is on offense, I could see him being an elite SS/WLB type as he plays with a no-nonsense demeanor.     10.[player_tooltip player_id='984711' first='Maxten' last='Cook'] 6-2 190 WR Lake Stevens OFFERS (1) Idaho   UPDATED: Cook makes a nice jump up the board after running a recorded 4.36 laser 40-yard dash on video (X). With that speed and film from last year, he's going to have numerous offers shortly.    Look for Cook to add multiple D1 offers this off season as the kid can play. As a sophomore he caught 35 balls for 579 yards and 11 TD's, helping his team to the state title game.    Cook has legit size and 4.5 speed. What he did as a freshman for the traditional state power was impressive, catching 20 passes for 383 yards and 4 TDs. His 19.2 yards per catch average speaks to his upside.    11.[player_tooltip player_id='986705' first='Dreson' last='Jimerson'] 5-9 175 ATH Bellevue OFFERS (1) Montana St   UPDATED: Jimerson averaged 22.2 yards per touch last season while running a 10.6 100 meters and a 4.39 laser 40. It's gonna be incredibly tough to contain thunder and lightning.    Agent zero has some of the best film anywhere. His elite track speed and ability to maneuver in space is a game changer. On the season he went for 1,022 yards on 46 touches with 8 TD's, earning 2nd team all-conference honors.    12.[player_tooltip player_id='985355' first='Amosa' last='Masaniai'] 6-0 200 SS/WLB Emerald Ridge OFFERS (4) Boise St, Nevada, Montana St, Sac St   UPDATED: Masaniai's versatility is what makes him so appealing from a recruiting standpoint in my opinion. He can play the Safety/LB spot equally well and could go over 1000 yards offensively this year.    One of the most impressive players in the NW on film. Masaniai was deserving of his 1st team all SPSL honors at Safety, finishing with 64 tackles and 2 TFL's to go with 429 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs.   Masaniai has some of the best film in the NW among 28's. He earned honorable mention all SPSL honors at Safety, finishing the year with 34 tackles and 3 INTs. It was not a surprise he made one of the biggest jumps of any athlete in the state on the rankings board.    13.[player_tooltip player_id='985511' first='Kaicen' last='Carter'] 6-3 210 LB/WR Federal Way OFFERS (14) Washington, Cal, Minnesota, Utah, Arizona St   UPDATED: Some people have Carter ranked as high as #6 or 7 for the class, but I think it's more of a wait and see. Regardless Federal Way should be one of the top 3A teams in the state with multiple top ranked prospects.    There isn't a lot of film to go off of, but Carter has double digit D1 offers for a reason. Look for him to have another good off season and put together some quality tape as a junior.    14.[player_tooltip player_id='1335368' first='Josiah' last='Laurence'] 6-3 195 WR Sumner OFFERS (1) Portland St   UPDATED: This is big for Sumner with the state's #1 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1188109' first='Braylon' last='Pope'] going down for the year with an injury. Laurence makes the transfer from 1A Cascade Christian where he was absolutely dominant as a sophomore being named the conference POY. You won't find a better kid.    One of the fastest rising stocks in the state. Laurence racked up all types of accolades as a sophomore, being named a 1st team all-state WR and the league MVP, to go with 1st team all-conference honors at DB. He had 37 receptions for 745 yards and 9 TD's along with 2 INTs in 7 games.    15. [player_tooltip player_id='1620395' first='Luke' last='Jennings'] 6-4 290 T/DL Glacier Peak OFFERS (2) Colorado St, Dartmouth   UPDATED: Credit to CSU on identifying Jennings early and extending the offer. Expect him to land a handful more over the course of the season from legit programs.    Jennings had a 1st team all-Wesco season as a sophomore at tackle for a Glacier Peak team that went (10-2). The potential is there for him to blow up with continued progression.    16.[player_tooltip player_id='985353' first='Ofa' last='Taufalele'] 6-3 325 G Bellarmine Prep OFFERS (9) Washington, Oregon St, Wash St, San Diego St   UPDATED: One of the top interior lineman in the west. The big man makes the move from 1A Life Christian to 3A Bellarmine where he should benefit from the competition playing the likes of Mount Tahoma and Lincoln.    Taufalele was relatively dominant as a sophomore being named a 1st team all-state O lineman. It will be important for him to continue and get out on the camp circuit to show what he can do against top competition.    17.[player_tooltip player_id='2166798' first='Jermaine' last='Tofa'] 6-3 340 DL Life Christian OFFERS (3) Oregon St, UNLV   UPDATED: Tofa had one of the best offseasons of any player in the region, landing multiple offers after dominating defensively. He was a breakout performer at the NW Showcase at WOU, the largest event on the west coast.    18.[player_tooltip player_id='1335622' first='Mekhi' last='Fields'] 5-11 180 DB Rainier Beach OFFERS (3) UNLV, Sacramento St, Idaho   UPDATED: Just a very good overall football player. Fields was a 1st team all-Metro selection at Safety as a sophomore, making 54 tackles with 7 TFL's and 5 PBU's. He allowed zero TDs from his secondary spot on the year and can play the CB/S position equally well.    Fields was a 2nd team all-Metro selection as a freshman and backed up his play this off season both in the weightroom (500+ pound squat) and on the 7v7 circuit. He will likely be a double digit D1 offered athlete.    19.[player_tooltip player_id='1971782' first='Wyatt' last='Laughery'] 6-5 300 T Seattle Prep   UPDATED: Expect Laughery to add multiple D1 offers in the coming months. He's added some significant size to an already impressive frame and should represent for a Seattle Prep team who could win a few playoff games.    All the potential in the world with a D1 body. Laughery earned 1st team all-Metro honors as a sophomore. If he can continue to improve from a mobility standpoint, he will be a major D1 prospect.    20.[player_tooltip player_id='2149746' first='Cole' last='Sievers'] 6-2 195 Safety/ATH Archbishop Murphy OFFERS (1) Montana   UPDATED: Sievers was wildly influential for an Archbishop Murphy team that won the 2A state title. He recently landed his first offer from Montana and will project as one of the top safeties in the Northwest.    21.[player_tooltip player_id='1613160' first='Brady' last='Bonnell'] 6-1 185 QB Tahoma OFFERS (2) Idaho, Portland St   UPDATED: The 3* QB tests extremely well, running a 4.56 40 yard dash at Montana St a few months back. He also excelled over the offseason leading the FSP program at quarterback.    The 1st team all NPSL QB showed up in a big way as a sophomore, hitting on 65% of his passes and totaling 2103 yards to go with 24 TD's (16 passing, 8 rushing). His dual threat status (680 rushing yards, 7.8 ypc) and D1 genes make him one of the more appealing quarterback prospects in the West for his class.    Bonnell started as a freshman at the varsity level, hitting on 62% of his passes with double digit TD's. He also impressed running the ball averaging 4 yards per carry with a handful of touchdowns. Brady excelled on the 7v7 circuit as part of FSP and could lead Tracy Ford's group moving forward.    22.[player_tooltip player_id='984867' first='Jayden' last='Baum'] 6-2 200 QB Evergreen OFFERS (1) Sacramento St   UPDATED: This will be a telling year from Baum from a recruiting standpoint after passing for close to 5000 yards and 41 TDs the last two seasons. Evergreen has done well as a program, and that should continue.    Baum was a 1st team all GSHL selection as a sophomore, passing for 2,659 yards and 20 TD's/3 INTs. He will lose a couple key D1 targets, so next year will be even more telling.    23.[player_tooltip player_id='985356' first='Solova'a' last='Steffany'] 6-1 290 OL/DL Graham Kapowsin OFFERS (2) Portland St, Sacramento St   UPDATED: The big man allowed zero sacks on the season, racking up 1st team all SPSL honors in the process. From a projection standpoint, it will all come down to size as he is one of the strongest athletes in the region.    Steffany is physically elite and had an outstanding off season racking up his first couple D1 offers. Give the Big Sky schools credit as he will be sought after by numerous universities. He racked up O line MVP honors at Cal a few months back and will project as a 1st team all conference guy this season.    24.[player_tooltip player_id='985352' first='Briytan' last='Bailey'] 5-8 170 ATH Puyallup OFFERS (1) Montana St   UPDATED: Bailey would be a solid FCS athlete and seems to know where he projects, visiting top schools such as South Dakota St. The offer from national champion Montana St is also a big deal.   The SPSL Offensive MVP as a sophomore. Bailey made the transfer from Mount Tahoma to Puyallup and absolutely went off, rushing for 1700+ yards and 24 TDs. From a projection standpoint, it's a size thing.    Bailey had one of the most impressive freshman seasons of any player in WA, totaling 850 all-purpose yards and 4 TDs with 57 tackles and an INT on D. He followed that up nicely on the camp circuit earning underclassmen MVP honors at a major showcase.   25.[player_tooltip player_id='1339339' first='Gavin' last='Danielson'] 6-5 195 TE/QB Auburn Riverside OFFERS (1) UNLV   UPDATED: The big man had one of the best offseasons of any athlete in Washington, landing his first D1 offer from UNLV as a TE, while also testing off the charts at multiple events. He's one to watch.    Danielson can play multiple positions offensively, hitting on 52% of his passes as a sophomore at the QB spot. He excelled last month at FSP's rookie minicamp as a Tight End, being named the Offensive MVP at the event.
