Trenches: Week One

Let's continue our look back at Week One with some of the guys in the trenches who caught the eye. Let's give you the names you need to know. Let's dive in.    Samiu was fantastic in the season opener. He was quick off the line, showcased good physicality and manhandled his defender. He displayed good footwork, quick, violent hands and got into the heads of the opposing team. He has a long, lean, athletic frame and will only continue to add weight and fill out. He's a tremendous Power Four recruit and will be a multi year starter at that level.     Koyce had a good Week One. He was strong off the line, asserted himself well and was excellent in his blocks. He showed clean footwork and quick, strong hands. He showcased all of his potential and has an exceptionally bright future and he is a Power Four recruit.     Kemper has put on good size this offseason. He was explosive off the line and showcased good hip bend and closing speed. He shed his blocks well and was a constant disruptor all evening. With the added the size, he showed off his physicality and was a handful for his opposing lineman. Kemper was fantastic on the evening and it'll be a big year for him.     Tye has a great frame to grow into and is long and lean. He had an excellent week one. He was explosive, and played with good pad level. He used his speed to his advantage and has excellent hip bend. He's a player with a bright future and has all the potential to be an exceptional pass rusher.    Those were some players to know who were impactful in the opening week along the trenches. Keep an eye on them for the rest of the season as these are high end prospects.
