NW Iowa Team Profile: Sergeant Bluff-Luton

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the start of high school football camp across the state of Iowa on August 10th I wanted my first article to be a preview of what kind of coverage you can expect from me prior to kickoff. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the better teams in Class 4A resides in my backyard at Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Head coach Justin Smith entering his 13th season has a talented and experienced roster that is coming off a (10-2) finish in the semifinal under the U.N.I. Dome last November. Senior OL [player_tooltip player_id='2087287' first='Alex' last='Brodersen'] returns to anchor the front five up front. Standout senior U.N.I. commit LB [player_tooltip player_id='1840100' first='Xavier' last='Jones'] 6-2 (220) is looking to follow up a (70.5) tackle season and (10.5) TFL last fall. Senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1992066' first='Beckett' last='Verros'] returns after posting a (1,450) yard effort on the ground to go with (16) touchdowns. Junior QB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='2159690' first='Justin' last='Ehlers'] 6-0 (190) will emerge behind center this fall. Jones collected (70.5) tackles and (10.5) TFL last fall. Jones pursues the ball from sideline to sideline and has a great wing-span to beat backs to the corner before they can turn up field. Husen rushed for (317) yards and (3) scores prior to injury. Back in 2024 Husen piled up (1,089) yards and (14) touchdowns as just a sophomore and averaged (8.8) yards per carry.
