KHSAA Week 1 GameDay Standouts: South Warren vs. Bryan Station

<p>Prep Redzone was in attendance for the eCampus.com Bowl during Week 1 of the KHSAA football season on Friday night. The bowl series featured two matchups between South Warren and Bryan Station, and a nightcap between the hosting team, LCA, and North Hardin. </p>   <p>South Warren def. Bryan Station 32-9. Here's who stood out in the matchup:</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">South Warren </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700"><br>[player_tooltip player_id='1665350' first='Camden' last='Page'] led South Warren to victory Friday night after completing 22-of-27 passes for 253 yards and 4 touchdowns. Page showed great poise in the pocket against the Defenders and repeatedly showcased his accuracy and decision-making. When he was flushed out of the pocket, Page kept his eyes downfield. He also made a handful of plays with his feet. Most often, however, he had time to go through his progression and make the right read en route to victory. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BarkleyTruax/status/2090949010748039495?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">One season ago, [player_tooltip player_id='2341555' first='Justin' last='Capps'] finished the season with 30 catches for 592 yards and 8 touchdowns. During opening night against Bryan Station, Capps went off for 126 receiving yards on eight receptions (nine targets) while averaging 15.8 yards per catch. Capps continued to find open space in Bryan Station's offense and to turn upfield and gain yards after the catch. Capps didn't find the end zone for the Spartans Friday night, but will have more than enough opportunities as the season progresses. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BarkleyTruax/status/2090925896735555811?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1617744' first='Jamir' last='Boards'] was all over the field for South Warren on Friday night. He led the Spartans with 16 rushing attempts for 74 yards at 4.6 yards per attempt. Boards was the team's second-leading receiver on the night as well, catching five passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns. This included a 37-yard strike across the middle of the field to open the second quarter and push the lead to two scores. Boards is coming off a season where he finished with 81 carries for 583 yards and eight touchdowns, and I expect him to eclipse that and then some in 2026 based on his Week 1 performance.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BarkleyTruax/status/2090922391325000160?s=20 </div></figure>    <p>Honorable mentions:</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2156979' first='Cole' last='Helton'] (2 rec, 22 yards, 1 TD)<br>[player_tooltip player_id='2136475' first='Isaiah' last='Bridges'] (5 rec, 32 yards, 1 TD)<br>[player_tooltip player_id='2190423' first='Cole' last='Kuzma'] (3 tackles)</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bryan Station</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700"><br>[player_tooltip player_id='378835' first='Jordan' last='Haskins'] will play defensive back for Louisville next season, but was asked to play QB in the second half on Friday to fuel a sputtering Bryan Station offense. While his presence resulted in one offensive touchdown, he proved why he's an elite DB prospect, delivering high-energy, effort-driven plays in the second level. One play in particular saw him blow up an outside zone play near the goal line, forcing a fourth down. Haskins will be a highlight reel for Bryan Station during his final run at the high school level. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BarkleyTruax/status/2090946047052853306?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700"><br>[player_tooltip player_id='1200561' first='Jermiah' last='Turner'] turned heads against the top-ranked Spartans on Friday night. He broke off a massive 50-yard gain during Station's opening drive. He didn't have another big rush like that again, but ended the game averaging 6.3 yards per carry as he tried to get something going for the Defenders' offense. He also added two catches out of the backfield for 24 yards as the team's leading receiver on the night. Bryan Station could lean on him for carries down the stretch this season. If so, I expect a breakout season for the Frederick Douglass transfer. He finished the 2025 season with nearly 500 yards rushing and six touchdowns. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ray'Mond Young led Bryan Station in tackles on Friday night as the team's middle linebacker. He logged nine total tackles, eight of which were solo. He provided a consistent and reliable presence in the middle of the defense while helping contain South Warren's rushing attack up the middle. Young ran the ball twice on offense, but found his success on the defensive side of the football. He's coming off a junior year where he totaled 68 tackles for the Defenders, and is off to a fast start in 2026 individually. </p>    <p>Honorable mentions:</p>   <p>Trae King (1 rec, 22 yards)<br>Ethan Foe (2 tackles, 1 sack)<br>Desean Smothers (2 tackles, 1 sack)</p>   <p></p>
