Kentucky's Class of 2027 DBs Worth Watching This Fall

There are oodles of talent from around the Bluegrass this fall. Let's highlight a few of the best across the state as they head into their senior year of high school.    [player_tooltip player_id='1314812' first='Cionne' last='Conn'] is an elite safety among a talented class of defensive backs across the Bluegrass. Conn is a playmaker who does a great job at getting downhill, breaking off his receiver, and finding the football. He's one of the hardest-hitting defensive backs in his class. Conn is great at always positioning himself to make a play. A sub-4.50 40-yard dash time means he can get to the line of scrimmage in a hurry. He does a wonderful job in cloud coverage and maintains his zone well. Conn can press and play man coverage with any receiver, and is athletic enough to win quite often in one-on-one, contested catch situations. He currently holds offers from EKU, Ball State, Southern Mississippi, WKU, Miami (OH), UT Martin, and Lindenwood.     [player_tooltip player_id='400890' first='Sekou' last='Kamara'] is one of the fastest cornerbacks in Kentucky and has high potential to play major minutes at the next level. Kamara has a great break on the ball carrier, can plant his feet, and turn on a dime to adjust himself to make a play on the football. He can undercut and/or jump routes and has the potential (and certainly the speed) to take any interception to the house. Kamara, a three-time state champion with Trinity, caught three interceptions in 2025 to go along with 10 pass breakups, 40 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Kamara has fielded multiple offers so far, including those from Appalachian State, Akron, EKU, and Butler.     [player_tooltip player_id='1908446' first='Bryson' last='Shoulders'] is a ballhawking safety from Madisonville-North Hopkins who finished this past season with four interceptions -- including three pick-sixes. Shoulders has demonstrated his ability to read the quarterback's eyes and anticipate throws. He's reliable as the last line of defense and is great at making open-field tackles. This led to him registering 51 solo tackles among 72 combined in 2025. Shoulders, a PRZ 5A first-team All-Defense selection, hasn't posted any offers yet, but I expect them to roll in throughout his senior year.     [player_tooltip player_id='1328129' first='Dominic' last='Foreman'] has proven himself to be one of the better man coverage defensive backs in Kentucky's 2027 class. He has great length and long strides, which help him stick with receivers. His vertical helps him high-point the football and intercept passes over would-be receivers. He is a high-effort player who always puts himself in a position to pursue the football. Foreman has also demonstrated his ability to break into the backfield and chase down the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage. Foreman currently holds offers from Campbellsville and Kentucky Wesleyan.     [player_tooltip player_id='1200714' first='Colin' last='Winters'] is a lockdown cornerback, especially deep down the field, where he gets a chance to show off his speed and skills in man coverage. He plays clean and has great awareness and timing for when to make contact with the receiver and dislodge the ball. Winters finished the season with 62 total tackles, including 42 solo. He also added an interception and a forced fumble to his credit. He's been active in several camps around the Bluegrass this offseason and has done well in getting his name out there ahead of a pivotal senior season.
