Here we examine some 2028 Running Backs in the Film Room!

[player_tooltip player_id='1856080' first='Jamar' last='Lewis'] (King)

Lewis is a 6'1" 210 pound running back that last season had 176 carries for 1561 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. Big back that also can catch the ball out of the backfield. He is a downhill runner that reminds us a little of Adrian Peterson at times with his style. Runs through, over, around, and by defenders. One cut and bursts up the field for scores. Always falls forward at the end of his runs. Combination of power, speed, and vision are rare. Bowling ball going downhill with opponents bouncing off him like pins.

[player_tooltip player_id='1052579' first='Ky'ren' last='Edmon'] (Bradley Bourbonnais)

Smooth and shifty 5'9" running back that cuts in and out of the defense with ease. Makes defenders look silly trying to bring him down. Sets up his blocks and runs behind his pads. Slashing style makes him tough to bring down and has quality ball security. Sudden and dynamic shifts right or left slicing through defenders with ease. Can also line up outside catching passes as a natural slot receiver along with reeling them in out of the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140174' first='Jayden' last='Garrett'] (Loyola)

Big and physical 6'1" 195 pound back that is an explosive back that hits the hole and explodes through it! Slippery runner that follows his blocking scheme making quick and sudden cuts evading defenders in the hole before breaking out in the open field. Runs over opponents on the second level. He is a physical runner that runs over defenders at the end of plays with the pile moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='887187' first='Logan' last='Lennon'] (Antioch)

Lennon is coming off a season where he recorded 1,116 all purpose yards and 9 touchdowns. 35 percent of his touches resulted in either a 1st down or touchdown. Runs a 11.23 100 meters and has a 20'9" long jump! Smooth athlete at 6'0" that is slippery through traffic making it difficult for defenders to get a clean hit on him. He also has excellent speed getting in the open floor for scores. Weaves in and out of the defense. Quick feet allows him to make cuts in tight spaces and get over defenders on the ground. Like what he brings as a pass catcher out of the backfield along with showing solid routes outside. Natural hands catching the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1687796' first='Lamar' last='Osterhues'] (Barrington)

As a sophomore Osterhues is a 5'8" back that racked up 1,168 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. So tough to get a clean hit on as he is constantly bouncing off opponents. Puts defenders on the ground with jukes and stiff arms alike. His suddenness and shake are his biggest assets as a runner. Low center of gravity allows him to hide behind lineman then hit the gas in the open field. Change of direction is one of the best in the glass. Vision and feel through traffic with his eyes reading holes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642374' first='Jalen' last='Callaway'] (Aurora Christian)

Callaway is a 6'0" 180 pound running back that had 1,378 all purpose yards a year ago while scoring 22 touchdowns. Quick and slippery back that has elite vision seeing the field in front of him. Weaves in and out of the defense. Equally effective as a pass catcher as a runner. Showcases natural route running and hands both out of the backfield and lining up outside. Also brings game changing ability in the return game. Wins off the line of scrimmage along with creating space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1617798' first='Jaquel' last='Edmonds'] (Carmel)

Edmonds is a 5'7" back that has elite speed in the open field making one cut and then exploding past defenders for touchdowns. Such a smooth athlete that accelerates with ease by opponents. Runs behinds his pads using his blocks to set up his runs. Makes guys miss in the open field along with spinning off blocks for more yards. Game changing runner!

[player_tooltip player_id='1052515' first='Jordan' last='Donald'] (Bolingbrook)

Donald is a 5'11" 195 pound back that racked up 646 yards and 7 touchdowns in just five games. Powerfully built bowling ball back that has quick and powerful cuts through traffic. He runs with strength and speed. Good vision in between the tackles with the power to run over defenders. Tough to bring down when he has a head of steam behind him. Also brings value in the kick return game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1905312' first='Xavier' last='Owusu-Gyan'] (Olney)

The Olney back runs low to the ground and is super difficult to the ground by having defenders bounce off him. Vision through the hole and explodes in the open field. Good on stretch plays running to the outside then turning on the burners down the sideline. Slashing running style that allows him to run with power and speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1869525' first='Ayden' last='Smith'] (Addison Trail)

Smith is a 5'8" back from Addison Trail that runs tough between the tackles. Moves the pile forward even when multiple defenders are wrapped around him. Consistently runs between the tackles and flashes as a pass catcher.
