Carolina Recruits Media Day: RB part 2

Part 2 of our running back recap continues with another loaded group of playmakers who are ready to make a major impact this fall. This class features explosive speed, bruising power, and the versatility to contribute in every phase of the game. Whether they're grinding out tough yards between the tackles or breaking away for game-changing touchdowns, these backs have the talent to lead their teams and put together breakout seasons. Eastern North Carolina continues to produce some of the state's most productive runners, and this group is next in line to carry that tradition.    [player_tooltip player_id='1210498' first='Gabriel' last='Suarez'] put together a productive junior season despite playing in a limited role, consistently making the most of his opportunities. Now expected to be the featured back for Jack Britt, the senior enters the season ranked as the No. 25 running back in North Carolina for the Class of 2027. Suarez has set the bar high with a goal of rushing for more than 1,000 yards, and if he reaches that mark, he has the potential to make a significant jump in the rankings. With increased touches and a larger role in the offense, expect Suarez to emerge as one of the top breakout running backs in the region.     [player_tooltip player_id='2266361' first='Tyler' last='Shakir'] is one of the most versatile athletes on Jack Britt's roster and has the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. The Class of 2028 standout is expected to contribute on both sides of the ball, but his biggest impact could come on offense. With Jack Britt featuring a run-heavy attack, Shakir's athleticism, vision, and playmaking ability give him an opportunity to become a key piece of the Buccaneers' rushing game. As his role continues to grow, don't be surprised if the sophomore emerges as one of the top young offensive weapons in the region.     [player_tooltip player_id='2266362' first='Darrell' last='Baria'] steps into the season as the featured running back for Hoke County and will be counted on to lead the Bucks' offense. The senior has the talent and experience to carry the workload as Hoke County begins a new era under its new head coach. With expectations high for a turnaround, Baria will play a major role in setting the tone on offense. If he can put together the season many expect, he'll not only help elevate the Bucks but also boost his stock as one of the top senior running backs in the region.     [player_tooltip player_id='2266360' first='Saxen' last='Fair'] is one of the most valuable players on Glenn's roster, making a major impact on both sides of the ball. The senior is expected to take over as the Bobcats' featured running back, and his production will be critical to the team's success this season. Fair pairs strong football instincts with excellent film, and his 4.4 GPA makes him an attractive prospect for college programs looking for a true student-athlete. Despite flying under the radar, Fair has all the tools to be one of the top sleeper recruits in the Class of 2027.     [player_tooltip player_id='2229992' first='Cristian' last='Simmons'] is one of the most overlooked running backs in the Class of 2027. Injuries may have limited his exposure, but they never slowed his production when he was on the field. Simmons has the talent to rush for over 2,000 yards and score 25 or more touchdowns in a season, making him one of the most explosive backs in the area. If he stays healthy, don't be surprised to see him surpass both of those marks and emerge as one of the premier running backs in the region by season's end.     Clarence Teewia is coming off a productive junior season after rushing for eight touchdowns while recording multiple 100-yard performances. The Class of 2027 standout has all the tools to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark and reach double-digit touchdowns this fall as Overhills leans on its ground game. Those numbers won't come easy, however, with the Jaguars competing in one of the toughest conferences in Eastern North Carolina. If Teewia can produce at that level against that schedule, he'll establish himself as one of the top running backs in the region.
