Battle At The Big House Goodrich Vs Frankenmuth:

The big house in Ann Arbor was busy hosting multiple high school week 1 games over a 3 day span. Frankenmuth took on Goodrich in a battle of schools who love to establish there physical dominance on there opponent and wear them down. Lets take a look antsome prospects that popped out on the field and what makes each player special. Colton was an absolute treat to watch Thursday tote the rock for the martians. This Goodrich's star running back was as good as advertised. I was shocked with the physicality Colton runs with. Colton has several plays on Thursday where he was contacted with in a yard of the line of scrimmage and ran through or in some cases over the would be tackler. Colton has a big sturdy frame and he runs behind his pads as well as any back I have seen. I was also impressed with Coltons ability to stay patient and allow his offensive line time to get on there blocks as Colton shows good vision as well setting up his blocks. Colton will be relied upon heavily this year and the bell cow back is set to have a monster year for the martians. Drew is in one word physical. Drew was crucial in the martians success on the ground all night in there win over frankenmuth. The big take away with drew was how well he attacked defenders in the run game and his mobility to protect and give a clean pocket for his quarterback. Drew showed excellent versatility as he lined up all over the line of scrimmage in the Goodrich attack. At 285 plus pounds drew is very light on his feet and was able to get to the second level on multiple plays and bury defenders and give his back clear holes to run through. This Iowa state commit is a dawg on the field and is set to have a big year for the martians. Avery is a player that I was looking forward to watching Friday and he did not disappoint. I was impressed with Avery's ability to attack from multiple spots on the defensive line and drive lineman into the backfield where he was able to make multiple plays. At 6'2" and 275 plus pounds this ferris state commit was as good as advertised. Avery plays with a very high motor and uses his hands well in close combat situations with engaged lineman. I was also impressed with how well Avery runs from his defensive tackle position. He was making plays sideline to sideline and showed out well for the eagles. Very impressive showing from Avery and a player that warrants more recruiting attention on the recruiting trail. Ty has taken over the reigns at Goodrich and it appears they are in good hands. The smooth sophomore quarterback showed all the things that you need to see to understand he is the guy. I was impressed with Ty's release on the ball. He puts excellent spin on the ball and shows he can make the throws needed to move the martians offense and keep defenses honest. I was equally as impressed with Ty's ability to beat you with his feet. Ty showed excellent speed as he busted a long touchdown run to tie the game with Frankenmuth. Ty is poised and in complete control and I will be watching to see what he does next, but if Friday was any indication is should be an exciting year for Goodrich. Landon is a guy that you send first off the bus on Friday nights to intimidate the opposition. This 6'6" 330 pound offensive line was not a player you could miss. Landon showed a high motor and played with good pad level and light feet and was instrumental in the martians run game against a high level Frankenmuth front 7. Landon moved well for his size and displayed excellent power in the run game, as he was called upon again and again to execute in short yardage situations. I was impressed with Landon and between him and drew I don't see many people controlling this martian rush attack. kj showed up Friday and had an excellent game for Frankenmuth. Kj showed ability to move all over the offensive formations and was a major threat every time he touched the ball. Kj scored the lone touchdown for Frankenmuth on a 48 yard end around . Kj showed very good vision, sharp cutting ability and good top end speed on the score. Kj will be an instrumental part of what the eagles want to do offensively this year and see a big year incoming for this senior.
