2028 Rankings Reaction, Quick Thoughts on Players to Know

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We recently published our updated <a href="https://prepredzone.com/virginia/rankings/2028-watch-list/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Class of 2028</strong></a> Player Rankings for Prep Redzone Virginia. This update brought our total ranked players to 290 prospects with another 169 on our Watch List. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A big name added to this rank is Trinity Episcopal's [player_tooltip player_id='720778' first='Khalid' last='Rainer'] who recently <a href="https://x.com/Khalid_Rainer/status/2084096542101606818" data-type="link" data-id="https://x.com/Khalid_Rainer/status/2084096542101606818"><strong>reclassed to 2028</strong></a>. He is an Edge defender with good length and can bend. Shows good competitive toughness on the field, taking on blocks and playing through the whistle. We are intrigued to see him compete for Saint James. He had a productive 2025 season playing Wide Receiver and Defensive Back putting up 15 Rec, 164 Yards, 30 Tkl, 18 Solo, 1 Int, and 7 PBU. He is a physical player with long strides, winning more with his long speed than quick twitch. His tape from this past season shows him moving with more quickness, making him a more efficient run stuffing Nose Tackle. Last season, he benefited from playing alongside Georgia Commit Valdin Sone and I expect he will be up for the challenge to lead Blue Ridge's defensive line this fall. He is a Linebacker out of Petersburg who makes an impact on the field with his quickness and downhill speed making him a strong run defender. His tape also shows his ability to cover the pass, making deflections and quick tackles on the receivers. With the graduation of some key contributors from Craig County the last couple of seasons, expect Bradyn to have a big impact this fall.
