The season was a culmination of the progress made the prior two seasons. The Bulldogs must replace their starting quarterback, lost their returning leading rusher to transfer, and graduated three of their top four receivers, creating plenty of opportunities for new faces to emerge offensively. Defensively, four of the team's top seven tacklers are also gone, leaving more holes on that side of the ball to fill. More questions are entering this season than Doddridge County has faced in recent years, but the expectation inside the program hasn't changed. While he'll continue to be a key piece on the offensive line, expect Glaspell to take on a larger role defensively, where his size and physicality can create issues for offenses. Offensively, expect to see him take on a larger role at fullback, where his physical running style and blocking ability fit naturally in Doddridge County's run-first offense. Cross brings a big frame and intriguing upside to the position, and after spending three years learning the system, he'll finally have the opportunity to showcase his ability on Friday nights. Hayes finished his junior season with 58 tackles and two interceptions while seeing plenty of snaps at both corner and safety, giving the Bulldogs valuable versatility on the back end. A multi-sport athlete with good length and speed, he has the range to stay with receivers downfield and the closing ability to make plays on the football. Despite serving in a reserve role last season, Davis still rushed for more than 400 yards and six touchdowns while adding nearly 300 receiving yards and 3 scores, showing he can make the most of his opportunities. He was already one of Doddridge County's top defenders, finishing with 83 tackles from his linebacker spot and will continue to be a standout on that side of the ball. Britton finished with 87 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks while helping anchor a Doddridge County offensive and defensive line that reached the state semifinals. He plays with a physical edge, explodes off the ball, and has the motor to consistently generate penetration and pressure on defense and open running lanes on offense.
