Summer Recap: Playmakers Set For Production Seasons

As the offseason comes to a close, several playmakers have used camps, showcases, and 7-on-7 competition to build momentum heading into the fall.    Here's a look at a group of offensive weapons I'm expecting to make a significant impact once Friday night lights return.   Jaylen Francis | WR | Port Charlotte | @JaylenFrancis_   Francis used this offseason to remind people he's much more than a complementary weapon. He consistently made plays throughout the spring, showing he can handle an increased workload while producing at a high level. His athleticism allows him to create mismatches in space, and he brings added value on special teams. Francis is an explosive playmaker who can stretch the field or create after the catch, and he's positioned to become one of Port Charlotte's top offensive weapons this season.   Major McBath | WR | 2027 | @Majormcb   McBath continues to build momentum as one of the more reliable receivers in his class. Crisp route running, dependable hands, and growing confidence were all evident throughout the offseason. He's become more consistent creating separation and finishing plays while showing improved attention to detail. As he continues to develop physically, McBath looks ready to take on a larger offensive role and should see increased production this fall.   Marquell Brooks | ATH | Carol City | @MarquelBrooksjr   Brooks delivered some of the biggest plays of the offseason, including multiple explosive deep-ball receptions that highlighted his athleticism and body control. His ability to win in contested situations immediately stands out, and his versatility gives coaches options on both offense and special teams. Now at Carol City, Brooks has the opportunity to thrive in a talented program. At 6-foot with return ability and big-play potential, he's a prospect whose recruitment could take another step forward with a productive season.   Carmari Soloman | ATH | Oviedo | @Carmari_Solomon   Soloman enters the season with plenty of confidence after putting together an impressive offseason. A dynamic two-way athlete, he possesses the speed, instincts, and versatility to impact the game in multiple ways. Whether lining up on offense or defense, his playmaking ability consistently shows up. Expect Soloman to become one of Oviedo's most exciting athletes once the season begins. His work ethic, toughness, and confidence have all been evident through training sessions and camp performances. At 6-foot, 185 pounds, he has a strong frame and dependable skill set that projects well at the next level. Despite playing in just eight games because of injury, he still totaled 33 receptions for over 500 yards and three touchdowns. That experience has fueled his offseason preparation, and he's positioned to put together an impressive junior campaign while gaining additional recruiting attention.   Syncere Murphy | ATH | 2027 | Oakleaf | @murphy_syncere   Murphy has shown tremendous development over the past few years and continues to establish himself as one of the more versatile athletes in the area. His instincts and ball-hawking ability consistently stand out, giving him a knack for creating turnovers. At 5-11, 170-pounds, he has the ability to impact every phase of the game makes him one of Oakleaf's most valuable weapons entering the season. His dependable hands and polished route running make him a reliable target underneath, while his toughness allows him to compete against larger defenders. He understands how to find open space and keep drives alive. Another productive season could significantly elevate his recruiting stock. He runs disciplined routes, consistently creates separation, and catches the football with confidence. His quickness after the catch allows him to turn short receptions into bigger gains, while his willingness to block and compete every snap speaks to his overall value. Huffman has all the ingredients to put together a breakout season if the opportunities continue to come his way.   Colton Outzen | ATH | @colton_outzen   Outzen has emerged as one of the more polished pass catchers in his group. He understands leverage, runs sharp routes, and consistently creates separation with efficient movement rather than relying solely on athleticism. His toughness, reliability, and attention to detail make him a quarterback-friendly target. Expect Outzen to continue stacking production and building momentum throughout the fall.
