The 6-foot-2 220-pounder brings hits hard behind his pads and shows strong instincts against the run. One of the region's top returning linebackers, Wendt was added to the latest rankings after a strong junior season where he made 40 tackles and 13 TFLs with four sacks. He also forced one fumble and broke up two passes in coverage.

An athletic linebacker who can make plays in space and find the football in coverage, Rowe plays alongside several Power Four defenders for the mighty McEachern Indians and consistently stood out on a weekly basis. He consistently puts himself around the play and wraps up the ball-carrier correctly. He's another active linebacker who knows his role, plays fast, and should be in store for another big season as a senior in 2026. The Indians have one of the more talented defenses you'll find across the state and the Kennesaw State commitment should be one of the leaders this fall.

A versatile linebacker south of Atlanta who can do a little bit of everything, Nowell brings a strong 6-foot-3 225-pound frame with above-average athleticism. He's fundamentally sound with his hands, playing with good leverage to fight off blocks before chasing down the ball-carrier. He's a dependable defender who gives his all and way one of the team's leading tacklers last season. The sleeper linebacker from McDonough made 75 tackles last season with one TFL, one sack, one forced fumble, one forced fumble, and one blocked punt. He's one to keep a close eye on this fall.

A dynamic athlete who can make big plays in all three phases of the game, Washington is a natural athlete who shined with the ball in his hands last season. At 6-foot-1 215-pounds, Washington was a big-play threat as a returner on special teams while also proving to be one of the region's top running backs in the 2027 class. Washington made a giant jump in the latest Prep Redzone rankings after an outstanding junior season where he ran for over 400 yards and two touchdowns on just 59 carries. Look for Washington to have an even bigger senior season for Woodstock in 2026.

A South Georgia defender with an aggressive style of play, Herring was an easy addition to the latest rankings update after helping lead an elite Thomas County Central defense to another state title. The hard-hitting, sure-tackling defender reads the run quickly and knows how to deliver a sound hit behind his pads. One of the Yellow Jacket's leading tacklers last season, Herring made 73 total stops with 12 TFLs and two INTs. He's a violent defender who can absolutely play at the D1-level. Look for Herring to have another outstanding season this fall as a senior.
