Hamilton County 2029 Prospects on Breakout Watch

The high school football scene in the Chattanooga area and specifically Hamilton County has produced some exciting young playmakers that could be on the cusp of breakout seasons for their teams this fall.   While some proven veteran players get a large majority of the spotlight, there are some prospects in the 2029 recruiting class at programs in smaller classifications that are currently flying under the radar.   If these players could turn their potential into more production during their sophomore season, they could have a huge impact.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Red Bank 2029 DL [player_tooltip player_id='2170725' first='Damarii' last='Gordon']</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2170725' first='Damarii' last='Gordon'] is a talented young defensive line prospect with very good size, athleticism and versatility.   He has an excellent frame -- currently listed at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds -- without sacrificing his ability to work upfield.   He is a natural athlete that can work upfield from a variety of alignments along the defensive line, generating pressures or tracking down ball carriers.   He has shown solid leg drive and the ability to take up multiple blocks to free his defensive ends up for isolated matchups. As he continues to improve his game and body, this will only become a stronger aspect of his game.   As he refines his technical ability and becomes more violent at the point of attack, he is a defensive line prospect that could see more colleges begin to come his way.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tyner 2029 WR/SAF [player_tooltip player_id='2112085' first='Marius' last='Turner']</h2>    Marius "Titan" Turner is an exciting young prospect that should emerge on the scene in a loud way in the 2026 season at Tyner.   He has a good, strong frame at six-foot and 175 pounds and has the natural athleticism to make plays all over the field in all three facets of the game.   On offense, he has strong YAC ability as a receiver, quickly turning from receiver to runner with impressive acceleration. As he steps into a large role this season, it will be interesting to see how refined the route running is against high school competition.   On defense, he has exciting potential at safety as well. His straight-line acceleration is evident from the backend of the defense and allows for him to fly around the field and make plays.   He was limited with injury as a freshman, but should be a key playmaker for a Tyner squad that will be competing for a state championship.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">East Ridge 2029 WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='2255427' first='Bentley' last='Moore']</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2255427' first='Bentley' last='Moore'] is an intriguing two-way prospect with very good length, natural movement ability and ball skills.   As a receiver, he has the natural long speed to get behind cornerbacks working in off coverage, in addition to the fluidity to cut across their faces if they seek to take that away.   He has shown the ability to create after the catch and is utilized in the screen game. However, he has run a very limited route tree and will need to show more complexity as a route runner as a sophomore.   His best potential might be on the defensive side of the ball where he utilizes his lengthy frame and ball skills to make plays from the cornerback position.   He can shadow receivers on the perimeter with his length and fluidity and has the ball skills to break up or intercept incoming throws.   As he steps into a bigger role for his sophomore season, he could have a breakout year with a more refined game.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notre Dame 2029 WR [player_tooltip player_id='2214007' first='JaMari' last='Whiteside']</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2214007' first='JaMari' last='Whiteside'] is a young receiver prospect with a very good frame, natural movement skills and high-pointing ability.   He has a very strong frame at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds and he has utilized that to win at the catch point. He has shown an innate ability to win in contested catch situations, whether boxing out defensive backs or catching over them.   He has the natural movement skills to win downfield despite being a bigger receiver for his age and could develop into a well-rounded perimeter receiver prospect for the next level.   He will need to display his skillset at the high school level and continue to refine it, but should have a strong opportunity to do that as he transfers to Notre Dame for the 2026 season.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notre Dame 2029 SAF [player_tooltip player_id='1728007' first='Keyeon' last='Martin']</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1728007' first='Keyeon' last='Martin'] is an intriguing young safety prospect with very good length and downhill burst.   He has very good length within a 6-foot-1 frame, but will need to keep adding a significant amount of mass to maximize the frame.   Despite the slender frame, he has shown the ability to be physical as a tackler on defense and special teams.   He accelerates quickly when breaking downhill and can chase down ball carriers when they kick it to the outside, even utilizing this ability in the box at times.   He also plays receiver and could eventually translate those ball skills to his safety role as well. He did record an interception as a freshman in a limited role at Red Bank.   His projection is TBD, but he should continue to see more action this season, while competing against talented playmakers.
