Last Season (5-3)

Last season was a good one for FDR-but definitely one they're looking to improve upon. Two of their three losses were blowouts where FDR lost by 35+ points. But they had an overall very productive year! 4 of their 8 games they scored 28+ points, and 3 of their 8 games they held opponents to 8 or less points. That's a really solid year as a whole for both the offense and defense. There are multiple seniors leaving the program-but some exciting returning underclassmen as well that we'll take a look at.

Islom LOOKS like a college football player. He's already 6'5, 240 pounds as a class of 2028. He's a man amongst boys on the defensive line. I'm a big fan watching his game. I'd like to see him add more twitch and bend-but he's got overwhelming strength and size, and moves pretty well. He's got a great ability to plug gaps and make arm tackles in the run game. He's violent at the point of attack. He's a guy I think is really gonna make a name for himself this upcoming season-and a guy we will definitely have to rakn soon.

Eyan's got awesome straight-line, breakaway speed. He's a legitimate home run back. He's got a great feel for the defense-and a great feel for defenders' positioning. He's got really good patience behind the line of scrimmage. I'd like to see him catching the ball and blocking a bit more-but I think he can really help a college team at the next level with his breakaway speed. He finishes runs well too, and he really fills out his pads. I couldn't get an exact measurement on him but he's got some really good size. Dynamic is the best word to describe him, in my opinion. Him and Islom are the two best players on this team right now, in my opinion.

Natal looks to take a lot of snaps at quarterback this year with the departure of Benjamin Wolfson-Harris, who took some snaps at quarterback last year. Nadal's film is pretty limited-but he's got some mobility to him and his arm is pretty reliable inside the numbers. He's consistently accurate and has more juice in his arm than you'd expect for a quarterback that's 5'6. He'll have a great running game to rely on with Todman-and thus will have a lot of the pressure taken off of him. We'll see if he put some more height on, and adds some more velocity to his arm.

Dior played most of last season on JV-but looks to contribute more on varsity this season with a number of seniors leaving. He's a sound tackler, he's got really good instincts in the middle of the field and manages to shoot the gap and get to the backfield consistently. He made a lot of plays on JV. I'd love to see him become a little more explosive and play a bit stronger and bigger. He's got a good frame and good size, playing more aggressive could help to unlock him.

2026 Outlook

FDR's schedule is slightly difficult this upcoming season. They play Midwood, who they should beat, but they also play teams like Bayside, James Madison, and John Adams who are all really solid. They also play Eagle Academy III who is excellent. It will be interesting to see how their quarterback situation plays out, between Natal and Scott. It will likely predicate how their season goes, but, regardless, they should be able to ride on the back of Todman and Khayrullaev to multiple wins and a successful season. I'm looking forward to seeing how their season goes!
