Film Room: Diving into 2027 Quarterbacks

***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription*** As we begin to approach the high school football season in late August we wanted to look back at prospects in our film room series before we do a preseason update to our 2027 rankings. Prospects in this series are being reviewed for a number of reasons. They blew up from where we initially had them based on camp performances, we saw them during the spring/summer wanting to dive more into their junior seasons, we were very high on them while their recruitment is not backing that up, and several of these players are making the move to a new role or school.   Today we dive into the Film Room with 2027 Quarterbacks    Nawrot is a 6'4" 190 pound quarterback that was one of the biggest stock risers nationally this spring earning invites to Elite 11 and garnering offers from every major program before committing to Kentucky. As a junior he threw for 3,078 yards, 41 touchdowns, and threw it on a 71 percent completion percentage. He has all the tools you could ask for in a quarterback with his size, easy release, and elite accuracy. He is a quarterback that has NFL upside because of his combination of accuracy, size, and arm talent. Ball comes out of his hand so easy exploding down the field. Throws equally well in and out of the pocket. Ball handling in the backfield with his fakes and play action mechanics shine. There is some Matt Ryan in there.     Ryder is a Purdue commit that we wanted to examine his film again after a strong spring where he really boosted his game. He has great size at 6'5" and 205 pounds. Good frame where he can continue to add strength. The ball comes out of his hands really easy and with a ton of velocity. Stands tall in the pocket while also being able to scramble or move the pocket when needed. Has a little Jared Goff in his game. Rips it downfield with a great deep ball showing arm strength and touch at the same time. Lays the deep ball out on go routes where receivers can run under it. The footwork, mechanics, athleticism, and arm talent are super intriguing. We were 1000 percent too low on him previously and he will be getting a huge bump from what we saw in person this spring along with in film review.     Peterson is a quality athlete at 6'4" 200 pounds who has committed to Eastern Michigan. Like the pocket presence as the big and strong signal caller stands in the pocket surveying the defense and lets it rip. Hits his backfoot, transfers weight, and the ball explodes off his hand when on timing. Intriguing QB that has excellent accuracy both out of the pocket and on the move.     Dangel has been tabbed as the replacement for Nebraska commit Trae Taylor who moved to the Cornhuskers state for his senior season. Last year at Warren he put together some nice tape. Clean and consistent release with nice velocity and touch on his throws. Sound mechanically working both out of shot gun and under center. Throws well when moving the pocket either direction. Can also make quick decisions out of the pocket hitting his back foot and letting it fly. Quality athlete who can get a first down with his legs.     Lang is a 6'1" 185 pound signal caller that this past season threw for 2,500 yards throwing for 28 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions. He threw for 70 percent completion percentage while also rushing fo 550 yards and 2 touchdowns. Really impressed with the timing Lang plays with. Creative with the ball extending plays for passes along with rushing for first downs. Quality athlete. Fits throws in tight windows and is extremely accurate. Throws well on the move.     Hasquin is a well built signal caller at 6'2" 215 pounds. The QB has been on our radar for quite a while now. Like the arm strength and the zip the ball has coming out of his hands. Works well both in and out of the pocket. Sound mechanically and is accurate. Believe he would be a great small college QB.     Cloherty is a 6'3" 185 pound quarterback from Plainfield East who has transferred to Mt. Carmel where he will compete for the starting job. Last year he threw for 1,200 passing yards while having a 17/5 touchdown to interception ratio. Quality size and a capable athlete that can throw on the move rolling the pocket out. Also can pick you apart out of the pocket with quick reads and making decisions on the fly. Like the anticipation and timing that he plays with when on schedule.     Cahokia signal caller caught our attention in several outings this spring and summer in person so we went back to the tape. He has quality size at 6'2" with plus plus athleticism. Very good runner who wins on designed runs along with when the play breaks down. The ball absolutely explodes out of his hand throwing to different levels. Processes the plays downfield while hitting his backfoot and letting it rip. Think this could be a sleeper who gets more attention as his senior tape comes in as Cahokia is going to be pretty good!     Monroe is a small quarterback from southern Illinois who is a dual sport standout. He is a 5'10" southpaw who has good feel and kind of guides the ball downfield. Electric runner that can extend plays and get out of plays with his legs. He is not this player, but kind of plays a little like Michael Vick. Good arm strength downfield with solid touch. The lack of ideal size will hold some schools back, but he is definitely worth a look at the small college level.     Undersized QB at just 5'11" and 170 pounds. Solid mechanics with nice footwork. Ball comes out of his hand with ease. Mobility being able to create and throw on the run. Timing and touch on throws are good. Works well out of the shot gun with his timing and ball fakes. System QB at the small college level that can be a nice sleeper find!     Hoffman is a high academic 6'0" 185 pound signal caller from O'Fallon. Accuracy on the deep ball dropping the ball in the bucket. At his best working in the pocket standing call and making reads. Solid overall decision maker that can also roll out when he needs to throwing on the move.     This past season Woosley threw for 2,195 yards, 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions s a junior. Terriers 5'11" QB is a plus athlete who is a magician with the ball in his hands. Creative runner, good with ball fakes, and makes throws on the move. More comfortable throwing on the move than out of the pocket.
