Ryder is a Purdue commit that we wanted to examine his film again after a strong spring where he really boosted his game.  He has great size at 6’5″ and 205 pounds.  Good frame where he can continue to add strength.  The ball comes out of his hands really easy and with a ton of velocity.  Stands tall in the pocket while also being able to scramble or move the pocket when needed.  Has a little Jared Goff in his game.  Rips it downfield with a great deep ball showing arm strength and touch at the same time.  Lays the deep ball out on go routes where receivers can run under it.  The footwork, mechanics, athleticism, and arm talent are super intriguing.  We were 1000 percent too low on him previously and he will be getting a huge bump from what we saw in person this spring along with in film review.

Ryder has an absolute rocket launcher attached to his right shoulder. His overall mechanics are loose, his rotation is short, his release is quick and he delivers the ball with violence. Ryder has plenty of natural arm talent as he’s able to throw receivers open, deliver off balance, improvise with arm angles, and mix velocity with touch over various levels and layers. Ryder can create big plays and is a fun watch in the combine setting.

Intrigued with what Ryder brings to the table.  Great size for this New Trier QB at 6’5″ 205 pounds. Deep arm talent that has touch and drives it downfield.. Throws well on the run.  Ball explodes off his hand with a whipping delivery. Sees the entire field and is more than capable of going off his first read to find another pass catcher.

Jackie was the tallest athlete to report. You could pretty much guess his position out the gate. I could not help to be impressed by him running the fasted 5-10-5 shuttle at 4.18. He also carried himself as a quarterback and he competed well. His release was attractive coming from high to low with such long arms. Being that tall and dropping back on a rhythm is no easy task and I think he fared well versus the other QBs. Not just fun to watch, but his approach to leading WR’s prior to snap, then executing did not go undetected. Two more years of high school ball will favor his progression into being a D1 talent eventually.
